  • Greenie you are mad to be dithering on this one. And also, given we've flogged 4.5k in 48 hours, think its unlikely there'll be any of the final 900 left next weekend

Still not quite sure why if it doesn't make sense for you to have a ST, why you don't just join Valley Gold, so you can be sure of getting a ticket in circumstances such as these.

It's £120 a year - Arsenal wanted that for a single match ticket against Bayern.

If you say it quickly enough it doesn't sound like a lot, but to some of us that's a big old chunk of money.
OK- how about a £10 a month by DD? Which works out at less than 33p a day. To ensure you get absolute priority for match tickets.

Sorry, I didn't explain myself properly. The comment you picked up on should have said I can't believe that there are many fans that go to most of the home games that don't have a season ticket. My definition of a genuine fan was one that goes to games. I'm not suggesting that one can't be a fan if they don't go, but that was what I meant.

I do believe, however, that those that don't go to games games now, irrespective as to what happened in the past, should be behind those that do when it comes to tickets for prestigious games.

KHA We have loads of genuine fans that don't go to games, those overseas, and students away are two examples.

There's no disputing that, but why should they get priority over those who do invest their time and money into going to games?

VIP ST Holders, ST Holders and VG members should always get priority when it comes to allocating tickets. It gives those fans who have 'invested' in the Club (whether they live in Plumstead or Paraguay) the opportunity to be allowed to get their tickets first.

There is absolutely no fairer way.

Even that's not a guarantee you will be able to get a ticket for some games.

  • I am not arguing about priority, rather I am discussing what makes you 'genuine'. I reckon that there are many overseas who feel the same hurt and joy as the rest of us, and would love to be at games.
I agree that everybody knows the score about ticket priority and have to adjust accordingly, I disagree that the only genuine fans are those who go to every game.
Those who do go to every game are not genuine fans, they are heroes of the first order ;-)

Just got mine! Reckon I will have the shortest journey. 5 miles from South Sheffield. Two "home" games in a few days! Can't wait!

    1.7 miles for me!

As for Spanish, don,t give a fuck what you believe. Convincing a keyboard warrior of my credentials is not high on my agenda.

Muggy comment. You want to get your head out your arse and realise when you're having your leg pulled "Raplh"!
    Off It

Would you like to point out where I even mentioned the priority regarding tickets being allocated. I have not mentioned that at all ! My point was purely that not having a season ticket does not mean you are not a loyal or genuine fan . I have no issues at all with the way tickets are allocated, and completely agree that current ST and regular away travellers, should head the list. I am lucky that enough of my group have seasons still, that I had no issue getting a ticket. Please read a posting, before having a go ! An my name has spelt like that since day one, if Curb IT
is that bothered I will change it just for you (like hell I will ).

As for my head up my arse, no comment, not interested in getting into petty squabbles, go an wind up someone else.
  • Wow, we were all nice to each other for about 6 days - knew it wouldnt last long !

Time out lads, at the end of the day we all have the same passion for our beloved club. Actually Ralph I do have an issue with the ticket allocation as I have said on another thread, in that although I am a season ticket holder, priority for the 6th round tie IMO should be given to all those fans who have attended all the previous 4 ties and only then VIPs, S/Ts & VG members.
  • Let's discuss not argue...
  • Make love-not war.

Why don't we all wait until all the tickets have been sold before we start an inquest into the unfair allocation system?
I really do not think anyone who wants a ticket for this would not be able to get one. Also there will no problem with the semi final either.
As for the final, well that's when it'll really kick off!

  • If I was a VG payer but no ST and no aways, at which point during this process would I have been able to buy a ticket (and how many?)

    Friday 4
  • Raplh I've always found the spelling funny which we have discussed before. I don't understand why you get so upset about it.

So potentially never having gone to a game I would have got 4 tickets in just the 2nd wave

This, one loss and everything has gone back to normal on here.

Ralph, Raplh, or however you want it, my only comment aimed at you was the one I quoted - you getting all aggressive and swearing when someone was joking about how if you were so old school why you'd name yourself after one of our worst players. That's all. It was a joke and you started calling people keyboard warriors.

    Chill.

  • How do you pronounce "Raplh"?

Yep, I think for 'normal' games its 2 tickets per membership.. Which is still more than fair.
  • Coming out of the woodwork for this one and looking forward to it.

  • I have only just realised it is spelt different to how I have always read it in your posts Ralph

This happens every time we have a "big" game. People come on here moaning that they can't get a ticket but they have done their time, man and boy, it's not fair, etc, etc.

Everyone knows the score. If you have a season ticket you get priority on tickets. It's that simple. However, the club decided years ago that they would also try to add in some priority for regular away travellers who might not have a season ticket.

Quite frankly, if you don't go to home games and you don't go to away games then you'll just have to wait your turn behind those that do, or else see if a mate can sort you out.

Don't really care what your "history" may be. We all know the score.

Anyway, these people bleat but very few who want tickets end up missing out.

  • I'm keeping my 'banter' to a minimum until I've got a lift sorted out.
  • If you gave a priority to anyone with a ticket for previous rounds as well, it would be fair and would not disadvantage anyone as I don't suppose there were too many at Huddersfield that didn't qualify as ST holders, VG, 5th round ticket holders etc! But it does seem to me that all of the 400 or so up there that Tuesday thoroughly deserve not having to sweat for a QF ticket. ( I declare an interest as I was there and not the only one of that ilk)

But it is what it is and we all know the rules. Hope nobody misses out.

What we shouldn't let pass is why the FA has done its best to spoil this occasion for us with a ko time designed for maximum inconvenience. Good to see the Trust is taking this up.
