I am most definitely not a Man Utd fan but all this Rooney stuff is irritating and sadly typically English. He has to play as when he plays well England are a better team , and if they are going to do anything in this tournament they need him (playing well of course). It might make some sense to play him in his preferred position - I wouldn't normally say that, but he might need a bit of help and his talent demands we try to help it.

Im annoyed with Rooney, in that he felt the need to explain himself to our poxy sh*tty w*ank scum media. 'Training with the stiffs' and all that crap. Just leave the bloke to his football. I don't think anybody can or should question his commitment to our national team.

Rooney created our goal and didnt play well... when he plays well we are much better. He must start.

Rooney's butt must be tickling the whole time with the amount of tongues up it.

Really? I'd say its the opposite. If you wanna see an arse licked, look at Neymar.

Or Messi, i still don't get how his goal was a "wonder goal" not even in the top 5 of the tournament so far IMO.

Really so he did not go on a mazy run leaving defenders on the a**e then smash the ball out of the keepers reach, it was quality not the best in the tournament but it was great

He went past one of the worst challenges I've seen from an international defender and his shot, which was probably going wide, took a deflection.

He exploited the space and got a shot away but it wasn't 'great'. If it wasn't Messi, then it wouldn't have been elevated to 'great'.

Think that's the opposite, if it was not Messi it would of been goal of the tournament but you dont see it as that because your expectations for Messi are so high

No it's not the opposite. If it was any other player he would be nowhere near the first team. But cause so many people are obsessed with him he somehow is one of the first names on the teams sheet.

It was a good goal but not a wonder goal is my point, the media had it's dream story already written about Messi scoring a wonder goal at the Maracana, so when he scored a decent goal it has been built up to be better then it actually was IMO.

As I said it was not goal of the tournament but if it was not Messi, you would not be saying it was rubbish, for instance if Reza had scored it you would be saying it was a great goal

Never got this point. It isn't another player, its Rooney. He is picked because Hodgson thinks he's good enough.

But cause so many people are obsessed with him he somehow is one of the first names on the teams sheet.

Are you saying the Hodgson listen's to all these people? If anything, the media, ex players and a few fans think he should be dropped, so if Roy listens to opinions then Rooney wouldn't be playing.

Just to make it clear, if Rooney was dropped then it wouldn't shock me or upset me massively, because i think Barkley is a fine player. My point is that Rooney's arse isn't being licked like you say it is (strange sentence i know).

Thats implying that you think it was a good enough goal to win goal of the tournament.

In no way, Messi scoring it or Reza scoring it, would that win goal of the tournament. It was a decent one-two, but the defender put it a shocking tackle and the shot took a deflection. It wasn't even goal of the week.

    But a good goal nonetheless.

I think Tim Cahill just got goal of the tournament...
