  • why have Delph and no sign of Colback, Huddlestone, Barry, Osman

    whats with the lol @Callumcafc
Put it this way Huddlestone was one of the most consistent performers last season
Gareth Barry, everyone has said you cant play him when Lampard or Gerrard are playing so surely now you can
Jack Colback was a key player for Sunderland in their survival bid last season
and Leon Osman performs on a consitant basis as well, all 4 are better than Delph
Huddlestone isn't International class, hes already proved that.
Barry - Age, we need to move on
    Osman - As above
Colback - Don't know enough about him to comment tbh

    Stupid yellow from Delph.

I can hear the England fans over the Swiss like it was in Wembley and Switzerland the away team. I suppose in a country like Switzerland 90% of the seats are corporate.

Delph has been our best player so far. So just watch the match and criticise if he plays badly afterwards.

(Outside of his tackling, maybe trying to impress a little too much).

Hang on he is the holding midfielder his tackling needs to be spot on, barely 10 minutes have been played how can you say he is the best player, there are probably a few players who have not touched the ball yet lol
    No he isn't

Wilshere is the holding player today.

Delph going forward has made a few good passes and will grow into the game. You're slating him without even watching a single minute. Wait until afterwards before you cry out for 33 year old Barry to be the future.

What's the point of playing people like Barry and Osman who will have retired by the time the actual tournament starts? Jesus.

Colback was selected and he withdrew....

Also come off if you seriously think Huddlestone warrants a place ahead of Delph.

Stones is worrying me. he's lacking pace at this level and keeps giving the ball away. Wilshere needs to impose himself.

You're allowed an opinion. However, if it's daft i.e. let's pick the 33 year old attack-minded Leon Osman over Fabian Delph, who has been consistently excellent for Villa and fits the bill needed in this game, then it'll get picked apart. That's how forums work.

Delph is more consistent but what don't you understand about the fact Colback was selected in the squad?

    Come on England!

Colback is injured, as has been said before. And considering he started last season at left back I'd say it's pretty clear how Delph has been more consistent

If we can get Sterling isolated against the centre backs, with the ball at his feet, he'll murder them.

The other point This is the toughest game of the group, which is why for this one game you pick a player like Barry with experience
then give Delph games against San Marino and Lithuania to build up his international experience.

IMO its more proof the Hodgson is not the right man for the job same with Picking Rooney as captain
  • Wiltshire always looks like he is going to give it away, must be that cigarette he smoked...

    Delph: Villa POTY last season.
  • The same Gareth Barry who was picked apart and shown up at International level four years ago? Yep, good one.

Good position with Welbeck running in with Sterling and Rooney in good positions. Welbeck unfortunately stuffs the pass / cross up. Got to do better in that situation at international level.
  • Put someone on Shaqiri, stop giving him time on the ball.

Yep, like we stuck with experience, lampard, Gerrard, Barry, Johnson, Rooney, etc in the past 3 tournaments and was absolute SHITE

Jones and Wilshere are absolute liabilities at this level.

    just LOL

name one player who done anything in South Africa, it was a poor team performance not just indvicduals, Barry has experience, I may not be watching but loads of people(Reporters inlcuded) saying Delph lucky to be on the pitch, if he gets sent off it will be lack of experience and could cost England
