Catering at the Valley

This is a great example of why I couldn't turn vegetarian. Worrying about if tongs have touched meat first, not being able to share the same barbecue, the risk of being given a meat samosa instead of veggie, catering staff not knowing if cheese is vegetarian or not.... oh the peril
(Tongue firmly in cheek)4 -
I think if we all supported a hotel chain or a restaurant and not a football club a lot of people would actually give a toss.3

Once again meat eaters showing a total lack of understanding. Not surprised at Lifers but would expect caters to understand. But they don't do they. I once asked for a Veggie option in the East Stand and was offered Chicken & Vegetable Pie! I had to point out that food that simply by incorporating vegetables does not constitute a vegetarian option.8

I have it on good authority that the chicken in your pie was, indeed, a vegetarian.TellyTubby said:Once again meat eaters showing a total lack of understanding. You wish. Meat products are fed to chickens reared in factory conditions.Chizz said:

No vegetarian on this thread has gone on about whether veggie or carnivore is best or that kind of debate, simply about the practicalities. It is impressive how easy it is to be hated though, judging by the contempt some seem to feel, all you have to do is mention you're a vegetarian.
Mind you I never stop going on about it, so probably deserve the contempt.
For many others though it is reasonable to mention how difficult it is to get vegetarian stuff isn't it?0 -
I had a vegetarian saveloy before the game, it was called a chip.7

No sympathy for vegetarians in cases like this. I remember when I worked in a cafe and a customer told me the vegetarian sausages were disgusting. I thought, what did you expect? You ate a meat product with no meat in it to appease vegetarians who still want food in a familiar shape.
Vegetarian cheese? Do me a favour.6 -
More to the point was it Halal Cheese or not ;-)0

I doubt the catering staff give edam.7

Jesus, imagine being up Oldham or Port vale on a wet windy night in the 80s, your options were Bovril, Kit Kat Sausage Roll or a brain Burger.
Its a football ground, theres a café, chip shop, Kebab shop (salad and Pitta) all near the ground, if your that fussed, im all seriousness eat before the ground.
Again, We are selling Pulled Pork and Slaw baps and the like outside the ground, YOU JUST CANT PLEASE BLOODY EVERYBODY!!!!!!
Sorry

CL just gets better and better.
We are now discussing vegetarian cheese, rennet, and animal enzyme...3 -
What would actually happen if a vegetarian ate some cheese that turned out to be proper cheese and not vegetarian cheese?0

Vegetarian cheese looks down its nose on other cheeses and always bangs on about how no-one caters for their cheesy needs and how disgusting it is for them to touch other cheeses.PL54 said:
I bet they will be gutted.iainment said:
Until they actually cater for veggies they're not getting my money.
Is vegetarian cheese the same as normal cheese but with more anger ?6 -

East Stand cider and pulled pork burger great last night, as was the service. Burgers are better , but more expensive at the tents just inside the turnstiles.0
