This has gotta be my worst festival in terms of winnings ever.
  • Followed Nina over the last couple of days, unlucky when forced out by the French horse the other day, but nice win today.
Going with Carberry to upset the last.

Another great festival comes to an end. Not been a great one for me financially summed up by another 2nd place in the last but hugely enjoyable none the less. Just applauded AP back after his last festival ride and God willing will be back next year. Well done to all who made some money, looking forward to hopefully a good home win tomorrow.

The bookies took all my hard earned today but all in all a very enjoyable and fairly profitable festival .. although how do 'we' stop the Mullins bandwagon ? .. his this tear juveniles could dominate for the next four seasons .. well done to all those who burnt a nice hole in the bookies' satchels this week and long may it continue

As the GC winner was wearing near CAFC colours, why oh why were more of us not on it ???

AND of course .. good luck to AP McCoy, never the best at Cheltenham but he always gave Walsh, Geraghty and the rest good competition for their wins

Down £40 for the week, had a punt in every race, been worse in the past. I am not worried though, Peanuts is going to win all of it back for us in the GN.

    Pipe has a frightening prospect.
And Hendo has 3 classy horses.

Good thread for the week as an outsider.

My company is owned by one of the big bookies and they are rich for a reason.

Licence to print money. My mrs has just started at Poker Stars in their marketing dpt. she comes from working for an ad agency where the clients procrastinate over every penny and make her life hell in trying to deliver what they want with the budget they've got. Whereas at this lot she's amazed at how much money they've got to throw at an ad.

Absolutely top top day out, on train home now, peace & co in the 1st allowed me to relax and enjoy it and come home only a few quid down

Was in the platinum suite in the club enclosure taken by clients and would highly recommend anyone who gets the chance to go to take it

    Superbly organised

Can worryingly see myself getting drawn into horse racing.

I'm fortunate that I haven't laid out any money on a bet for three years now and other than Cheltenham generally 'playing' once a week / fortnight with my 2012 GN winnings. When that finally eeks away (and I'm hoping Peanuts can extend it for another few years) I'm not really in a position to have much disposable spare to engage betting as a regular hobby, but I can see how people with not much willpower can get sucked in.

Still thing more can be done in terms of controlling / regulation to stop people when addicted landing themselves and their families in the shite.

But getting back to thread, think it's been a great festival.

The key to it is only gamble what you can afford to lose and NEVER chase your losses that's where people fall down and get into trouble.
