Haven't got a bleedin' clue. Happy I'll be at the game though.

I posted this on the Chelmsford thread but it deserves repeating here. Bloke sitting behind me in the stand last night, chatting to his mates seemed to be some sort of scout and therefore ITK. He reckoned Solly took a knock before the Bolton game, hasn't been training and won't feature against QPR. So who will fit in at right back if true?

If that's the case, then we urgently need a right back in before QPR.

Unless Cousins at RB, and Ceballos at left mid - hence why Ceballos wasnt involved last night? Not comfortable with RCC making his debut, against QPR, and out of position.

He's had a look at RCC, Barnes, Staunton and Nego, but not tried Cousins there, who you would have thought would be the safest bet, given we have cover in midfield. On pre-season, you'd have to say RCC is favourite.

Not good news, if true. Easy to forget that Gomez filled in so brilliantly last year that it wasn't an issue when CS was out

Get Osei Sankofa in on loan from Dulwich Hamlet....

    I'd stick Nego in.

Wont be able to play Staunton there regardless against QPR as he's not under Contract...

More than ok with RCC filling in if true. All the reports were that he did excellently against Bolton.

i can't see anything other than a 1-1 draw, neither team will want to lose the opening game. Cagey affair. Fancy Big MaK with the goal

Aah, a pre-match preview. Thank goodness the wait is nearly over.
We will take the lead through Igor then concede fairly late on for a satisfactory if slightly frustrating draw.

Is Igor back? Be great if he is.
No idea, as I am very out of touch. Due to a lack of imagination I just went for what happened on the first day last year.

  • He'll have a field day up against our inexperienced defence and keeper if he's up for it.

QPR are light on defenders and have lost some big names from last season. We've had an overhaul and Luzon probably doesn't really know his best 11 yet.
So that equals a 1-1....I think.
    Kashi the new Kish.
    KAG scores off the bench.
Pope saves a last minute Austin penalty.

They have signed a left and right back this week.
  • Banker away if QPR turn up, otherwise banker home unless both teams are just ok in which case it is a banker draw.

So it looks like we will face Austin, the 16 million dollar man.
Will this give us problems ?
    Majors for our CB's.

What I dont get is lots of our new signing were deemed not ready for first team action until the last friendly meaning that we have had no time to get the team playing together.

Austin plays one game in the entire pre season after niggles and transfer talk - and will probably go straight in on Saturday.

    How does that work out?

Love the optimism on here, however i'm not convinced, 1-2 loss, 2 down at half time after some shambolic defending. JBG to pull one back but not enough.

That's a typical Charlton summary/result NA, however, it's a lottery this (early) term imo, after the mass influx.

Also completely gutted that I can't get Saturday off work...working in retail is so bloody annoying.. would much prefer a mon-fri rota :@. Was buzzing for this game only to find out I had to work Saturday and my boss wont let me have it off as I had a day off to go to the cricket last week. Sing a tiny bit louder to make up for my absence :(

Cant believe people are pooping themselves over facing Charlie Austin, he ain't Messi or Ronaldo. Anyway, doubt he will start.

Premier League quality striker against a League Two keeper and untested defence, I think there's reason to be worried. All depends if he fancies it or not to be fair, if his mind is elsewhere (if on pitch), which we should hope it is, we'll have no problems.

It would be a huge gamble for QPR to play him, particularly in their financial position
