Off this forum all day yesterday, came home late last night so not logged in until this morning....this news is very sad and I can only join everyone else and add my sincere condolences to Andy's family and friends. RIP sir....God Bless You.
Terrible news, RIP Andy. Thoughts and prayers to his family. Just had a look back at some of his comments. Seemed like just a nice decent chap based on those and backed up by what has been said by people who have met him.
Not sure if I know you. Like a good few, I suspect someone that many of us would have recognised from away games. Just read a few of your recent posts and the kind words here from @The Prince-e-Paul and others. You'll be sadly missed & my thoughts are with your family and friends.
I would echo the sentiments of the Paul's opening post. Despite knowing Andy was very unwell, it was still a shock to hear the news.
Andy was a fellow Charlton fan, enjoyed a decent beer and was good company. It is a pleasure to have known him, and he will be missed by all that knew him.
The manner in which Andy dealt with his illness and that it involved, was admirable. Despite the deterioration in his health, he had managed to make the Derby game. When I did not hear back from him last weekend, I feared he had had to return again to hospital for more treatment. Unfortunately things were worse still.
Sadly, Andy joins the list of people that are no longer with us that are in my thoughts when I watch Charlton.
