Some miseries right here on this board (looks up).

If the BBC announced their coverage will be starting at 5.13pm so they can fit in extra episodes of Antiques Roadshow and Countryfile, people would be losing their sh*t saying that the BBC doesn't care for the 'peoples game' or major sporting events anymore.

Fair play to them for trying to make a day of it again.

Agree, fair play to them for trying. Although they shouldn't have lost the contract to ITV in the first place, that when it all went tits up.
Then non-sports fans would have been saying: "Why are the BBC wasting so much money when we could have had 40 more episodes of Antiques Roadshow or Countryfile"...

Watching Salford vs Notts Couny, BBC cracking 2nd goal from Salford players, a bit of trickery, gets away from 3 County defenders, a pass with the left and shot with the right. Cracking goal. Well worth catching.

Reminds me how much I like the game of football.

Really was a special goal. Just loved how he took three of them out of the game with his trickery and then linked well with the fella in the box for a great set up. Excellent finish also.

Great scenes, mini pitch invasion. Terrible pitch. Excellent goal line clearance as well at 1-0. Hard working Salford. Well deserved victory. Football is magic.

Proper football. Full bloodied tackles, rubbish pitch, no diving played in pouring rain.
Re Jon Stead did Curbs originally prefer signing him as opposed to Bent.
Not a bad player Stead;however, I think Curbs dodged a bullet there.

Today's FA Cup Final is between Chelsea & Man City
In the last 20 years one of these teams have been in the Final for all but four of these years.
    That’s 16 out of 20 years.
In fact, the last time one of them wasn’t in the final was 10 years ago in 2016.
Now, for the first time ever they are playing each other.

This has got to be the first time ever that I don’t care who wins.
Does anyone have any real preference,  and why?

City because I can't stand Chelsea.

TNT trying to do the from 9.00am non-stop coverage but no it's a knockout or meet the wives.

I am pleased it's back at a 3PM KO. I'm going to a Rock n Roll event about 4.15, so I'll miss the end, and I don't really care who wins.

I think Man City will win quite easily. Chelsea are rudderless atm and Man City will be determined not to lose 3 consecutive finals. Interestingly however, Chelsea did just that.

2025: Some nonsense stripey team 1-0 Manchester City

2024: Manchester City 1-2 Manchester United

2023: Manchester City 2-1 Manchester United

2022: Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool (Liverpool win 6-5 after penalty shootout)

    2021: Chelsea 0-1 Leicester City

    2020: Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea
The first FA Cup Final to be played behind closed doors, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Didn’t know until reading this thread. The FA Cup has really diminished in significance. I have more interest in the early rounds with the non league clubs than the final these days.

I genuinely woke up this morning not realising today was FA Cup final day, very sad how TV schedules, Wembley semi finals and K.O. times have changed my appetite for it.

Really don’t care who wins it

I still love the final and would rather Charlton win that than the PL (not that either’s happening any time soon). It always falls on my birthday weekend and am hosting the annual bbq this afternoon. Was planning to set the subbuteo up but can’t be arsed getting it all down from the loft. Not really bothered who wins but have a few good mates who are Chelsea so hope they win.

Two of the most boring sides in the Prem, and will no doubt be just as boring to watch, so best of luck anyone bothering too...🙄

Unfortunately for most people it's just another live game on the box. Used to be the game to bring the curtain down on the domestic season, not even the last game of the season now. Ruined.

People talk about the JPT being meaningless, tbh this doesn't feel much better.

Is it somehow possible for both sides to lose?  That would suit me.

Absolutely zero interest in this. I didn't notice the thread had been bumped from 2015 and honestly couldn't make sense of the discussion about kick off times.

Had either or both of the losing semi finalists got through, I'd have been interested but these two are just monied clubs and I would be happy if they both lost.

And to cap the day, Celtic  win the Scottish league to continue the boring dominion of Glasgow teams.

The problem for the neutral, is that it's such an unexciting final.

However much we hated it, Palace winning it WAS a story, a massive moment in their history, whereas for City and Chelsea, they're in Wembley finals so often it's a real non event.

Seem to be quite a few empty seats. They probably thought it was a 5:30 ko.

That was a really poor challenge by Fernandez. Lucky to get away with a yellow

Chelsea doing a Charlton at the moment. Decent build up and then the wrong decision with the final pass…

Likewise, daughter had it on and I didn't even realise. I looked up and said "is this the FA Cup final?"

Go back to my childhood and it was an all day affair, even if I had no interest in either team.

I predict a team in blue'll win it!

Boring first half. Chelsea will be happier with how it's gone so far, a tick for their rookie coach.

Too much live football on TV and radio is killing the golden goose. I know some consider me a dinosaur but I can remember you used to have to check where "Songs of praise" was being broadcast from on Sunday to try and work out where the second half commentary on Saturday might come from. I realise it is called progress but for who?

Just my opinion fella...truth be known I find the Prem boring full stop, the usual suspects at the top every season and the also rans just trying to survive... money chasing even more money, no different to Scotland with Celtic and Rangers, but each to their own mate...
