I'd actually prefer to see him move on. He's on a good contract by all accounts and is at this point probably third in the pecking order. Having Rhoys remain with us is sucking up resources which could now be spent in improving the team rather than improving the under 21 squad training matches.
This is not meant to be a slight on Rhoys. He was great for us but hasn't been fit and things have moved on. It's a harsh reality of being a pro footballer and a reminder why clubs too can come unstuck in offering long term contracts to players.
It looks unlikely we will get a fee at this point so if Rhoys wants football and for us to put him in the shop window then I wouldn't mind us getting him out on loan even if we pay the lions share of his wages which we are paying anyway.1 -
Doubt it anything to do with how much he wants to play. A fit Wiggins would play regularly for both Charlton and Wednesday. This seems not to be the case. Wiggins played in their first four games culminating in a 3-1 home defeat to Middlesbro' on the 29th August. The only game he has played since was the mid-week win at Newcastle but it seems that this was sufficient to given him a place on the bench for Saturday's victory at Brentford.Athletico Charlton said:

I don't believe so - Wednesday made wholesale changes from the previous League match for the Newcastle game and then reverted to their League team from what I can see.soapboxsam said:

Really rated him when he first arrived and after a few dodgy first games looked like he could go on and play at a higher level. That first foot injury v Palace ? Completely changed his game. After that I generally thought he was poor. I think he will get slaughtered in the PL if he gets a game.8

Rhoys is a really nice guy, EH knows what he's getting, probably not paid a huge fee, hope Rhoys gets a place in the Welsh Euro squad in the summer.1

Agree completely. Remember thinking that he simply wasn't that good - he'd clocked up 10 caps for Wales at U21 level prior to joining us, but despite playing in a successful side in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 he never got a full cap.
