The Perfect Fry Up
Comments
-
2 sausages
2 bacon very crispy
2 fried eggs with runny yokes
black and white pudding
spaghetti (cam stand beans)
Fried Bread
HP sauce
Tee strong with 4 sugars
3 doorstep slices of bread0 -
Amount of the following is subject to guttage, but breakfast MUST contain
Egg (fried, and only fried, nothing else constitutes a proper full English, nice as scrambled is)
Smoked Back bacon (unsmoked is for pansies, streaky for septics)
Sausage (anything from Nettos 50% sawdust specials, to O'Hagens super specials. A matter of taste)
Black pudding (white is nice, but not English)
Tomato (fresh, although I can handle tinned personally)
Mushrooms (always fresh, NEVER tinned)
Baked Beans (never own brand)
Fried Bread.
Bread and Butter
Cup of Splosh (with sugar)
Useful addition, but not essential is bubble.
Liver, spaghetti, chips, onions , potato farls (????????), sautee potatoes, Scottish slice, hash browns, shallots and coffee have no place on a full ENGLISH breakfast.0 -
[cite]Posted By: Valley McMoist[/cite]2 Sausages (Kennedy's)
Oh if only, why did they kill Kennedy's?
2 sausages
2 bacon
1 fried egg
Large black Pudding
Baked beans
3 crusty slices
Large mug of tea.0 -
Can't believe nobody has mentioned kidneys in a fry-up. Runny eggs a must as well and whoever drinks coffee with a fry-up should be frowned upon. Tea is the only drink to have.0

You what?!?!
Sounds nice, but not with your fry up!
I'd go:
Sausages
Bacon (smoked)
Hash Browns
Beans (agree AlgarveAddick, no own brand!)
Fried bread
Bubble and Squeak
with ketchup, then hot buttered toast on the side, and black coffee(no sugar) and Orange Juice.
I have never had white pudding!0 -
All washed down with a couple of cans of Special Brew.0
-
2 Bacon smoked
2 eggs, fried normally, scrambled is acceptable if the eggs in the establishment are notorious
Tinned tomatoes with lots of juice
2 toast of the crusty variety
2 proper sausages
Bubble
White or Black pud but if it's dry it gets binned
Big blob of red sauce
Cup of monkey tea
Sun newspaper
Then you are ready0 -
cant believe so many have said hash browns, they are yank bubble!
Agree bubble is a must, along with
2 fried eggs
fried toms
sausage
double bacon
beans
2 slices buttered bread baby
had that this morning, washed down with a massive cup of TEA luvvly0 -
Best fry up is the one near Newington(?) on the way to Rainham
In fact this is the only place where I would have a fry up.
Cappah tay. 2 sausages 2 eggs, toast, beans, bacon and a terrine of chips.
Pigs!
Ugly sods but tasty things.0 -

For once I agree with you.
For me, sausages, bacon, beans, mushrooms, black pudding, bubble & squeak, fried bread plus hp sauce (I can't/won't eat eggs) all washed down with tea.
The tea though has to be in a proper china mug.0 -

2 good sausages
Bubble
White or Black pud only if it's good quality
2 Fresh Crusty bread
Brown sauce
Tea
I read the whole thread before posting and didn't find found my combo anywhere - amazing. Carter's came closest but without tinned toms (no no no) or the Wapping Liar. Agree on Hash Browns too - not on my plate mister!0 -
It's totally possible to cook a proper cooked breakfast without it being smothered in grease, I do all the time.

Thers is actually a bit more to this than meets the eye. Back in the day of the miners, the ruling classes wanted us plebs to have that 3000 cals to make them more money. Now, as Coren points out, we are slaves to their desks instead, and they don't want us to be ill because of overeating (or drinking, or smoking) because it means we are not making them even more money. So they get their little lapdogs in the press to start banging this sort of stuff about, and some of it sticks.
Now where's that lard...0
