Would love Di Canio. RM or KM would stand absolutely no chance telling him who/what to play. But I guess they would buy who they want.

not really. the Wilder thing only came out because he had an employer. if we are now targeting those out of work then there isn't likely to be any news until there is news.

Actually don't want Di canio. Great memories of the player, but after Luzón, I really don't want another lunatic on the touchline, we have a directors box to stash people like that. Besides 'knows the club' isn't exactly correct as he knew a completely different set up to the disaster KM and RD have put together now. Let's have someone with experience, and also not a 'first time in the job' new boy. Please?

I can imagine Andy Hughes as a coach, the sort of guy who motivates lower division players to run through a brick wall, but can he do the tactical stuff?

Like the sound of Andy Hughes though doubt Meire would.

Yes the flip side is he knows what this regime is like first hand. So no doubt wouldn't give them the time of day.

Why leave a cushy job in the premier league for a basket case in league one? Well actually he does work for a w***er and at palace so he might consider it.
Don't think it is a paid job so he might still be open to a proper job offer (which rules out CAFC under Meire)

Could we notappoint Di Canio, just for a month or two, to see his comments whenever Katrien Meire opens her mouth with some stupid comment.

No he wouldn't. So they'd promptly sack him.

If we are bandying around completely random names like DiCanio then I raise you Jose Mourinho.

Could see this working with Simon Clark doing the tactical bit.

Eh? He is not getting paid to be first team coach at Palace?

Di Canio wouldn't last much longer than a couple of months, but would be very entertaining!

Haaate Karl Robinson, don't even know why. Bet he'd do a good job though.

Andy Hughes would be an amazing appointment as a member of coaching staff, not sure about manager yet.

We'll end up with Nobby's Nuts and CARD will have to go on another projectiles shopping trip to Makro.

    This is all speculation, obviously.

Our Manager/Coach/next nobody has already been selected.

All joking apart at this stage in his career don't think Appleton would be a bad shout.

Wouldn't want Di Canio because of, you know, the Fascism/racist thing. He was terrible at Sunderland, and his only tactic seems to be to shout at players. There's a reason he's been out of work for so long.

It sounds like Simon Clark is a good coach, but given he started last season with the U-18s, I think making him manager would be far too much too quickly, and just like with players, we'd risk ruining him by throwing him in the deep end. I hope he sticks around on the coaching staff though.

As I've said before, really don't want a manager/coach who will simply gee the players up or get them to run through brick walls. I think that type of management has a shelf life, especially if you have players from different footballing cultures, as we are always likely to do given our ownership (and the inflated prices of British players). I'd rather we have someone who can actually coach tactically and technically.

Roy Hodgson could be looking for a new low profile role after the summer..maybe that's their master plan?

it really doesn't matter who gets the job. there are names being touted that I hope dont get the job, and there are names touted who I really like.

But at the end of the day, whether we like them or not. Whether they are British or not. Whether they are experienced or not.......if they choose to work under this current regime and are prepared to accept the conditions we all know will be imposed on them as part of their short terms contract, then immediately, they become part of the problem. They become part of the regime. No self respecting manager who has real ambition, who really wants to lead their team to a league victory, who wants to develop home grown talent over foreign loanees, who wants to carve out a successful career, no self respecting manager would choose to work under this regime, and as much as i may like some of them, if they do choose to do just that, I cant support them, no matter who they are, because ultimately, nothing has changed. It's just a different person being put forward to bear the brunt of the remaining fans frustration.

Total rumour this so please don't take this seriously, however living in Stoke On Trent I have quite a few Port Vale supporting fans. One who is very close to the club, infact he works there part time, reckons their manager Rob Page, has been in talks with another league 1 club "down south" he said it was believed to be Northampton originally citing his ability to work with a small budget as the main reason, however apparently he's been told another team has now joined the race and its believed that it may be us.

    Don't shoot the messenger!
