I did. I said that I thought that it would be rough for three or four year as Roland wouldn't do things the conventional way but over time his strange methods would be moderated, he'd realise his early recruitment model was wrong and financial fair play would bring our budget closer to that of other clubs while the network would bring some benefits.Exiled_Addick said:
Only if you want us to remind you that you also said that Roland would get it right in the end.Henry Irving said:Is this the right time to resurrect the "bumpy ride" trope?
Financial fair play was blown away, the recruitment model was worse than anyone could have thought and the network proved to be a myth.
Still, I was wrong as I thought they would realise that it wasn't working and change the recruitment. They didn't. I thought they'd keep Riga and they didn't. I didn't think they would employ someone as inept as Fraeye or that Katrien would never learn anything let alone anything from her mistakes.

I'm going for John Collins if it is someone not at the club but stick with it being Simon Clark as the last option left to them.AFKABartram said:Did say a few months ago our name in the game is so poor, very few people will have anything to do with us unless they are desperate. I think that is starting to look clear.
Of the regular names being banded around, Adkins or Slade would actually positively surprise me, Keith Hill would be meh to me, Evans would disgust me, and Davies would just be a disaster imo
Why they aren't begging Nathan Jones to come back I don't know other than they'd have to pay Luton some compensation.3 -
He already disgusts me.AFKABartram said:Did say a few months ago our name in the game is so poor, very few people will have anything to do with us unless they are desperate. I think that is starting to look clear.

Still think there a surprise out there that's not been mentioned yet ?23 -
Has Chris Wilder been mentioned yet? I'll let you have that one as a scoop, but don't tell anybody.colin1961 said:Got no problems with Keith Hill his teams always score plenty of goals and he knows the English game better then most other names mentioned and he is current .......Adkins , Slade and Davies Adkins and Slade would be good appointments my only issue with Billy is the length of time out the game

I've also heard we might sign Jim Melrose as well.0 -
Biggest list of yesterday men and no hopers. Big shift from the 'up and coming' category that Wilder sits in.1

Agree. Justin Edinburgh? Tisdale? How about Jason Tindell, might fancy a crack at management himself?Valley11 said:Biggest list of yesterday men and no hopers. Big shift from the 'up and coming' category that Wilder sits in.

How about Martin " Mad Dog" Allen ? he's doing a good job at Barnet0
-
Tindall would be bonkers to go alone, especially with us. Howe will get a top job at some point (maybe even England in time) and Tindall will go with him.LargeAddick said:

Ryan Giggs needs to prove he has management ability and now no longer a number 2 needs to move on.
As Frank would have said "if you can make it at Charlton........."0 -
It will be whoever is desperate and cheap.0

Steve Evans - Ryan Giggs
weve gone from Man vs food to Man Utd in the space of a few posts.9 -
If you take Powell's 30 wins and 6 losses in our league 1 season, it leaves pretty average reading. I thought he was doing ok at Huddersfield and was hardly sackedMacronate said:
agree but just wanted to provide some stats becuase we know damn sure that KM & RD won't bother with such piffle.ricky_otto said:I'm always a bit sceptical re managers win ratios - a lite of it depends on what level they are managing at.
In any case, I'm sure we can lower all there's for them.
We should just give Evans, Adkins, Collins, Hill, Cotterill, Davies and Slade 5 games each (Karel can be caretaker for the other 11) whoever loses the most games and signs the most shit players gets the job.
Chris Powell (Charlton, Huddersfield & 1 game caretaker for Leicester)

Been tracking oddschecker all week, Keith Hill red hot favourite now not sure where that's come from, I've not read all 21 pages in here by the way so apologies if someone leaked it.
I did however get on Davies at 33s on Sunday before he shot down to 8s, and as it happens I wouldn't mind seeing him get it!1 -
We have gone further back than that!ricky_otto said:Steve Evans - Ryan Giggs

Jason Tindall started out at Charlton so maybe not as bonkers as you may think.
But to be fair he would be nuts to leave his current position0 -
Sure did. Anybody starting out in management would probably be scarred for life afte working with these clowns.Swisdom said:Jason Tindall started out at Charlton so maybe not as bonkers as you may think.

It's basically down to who is most desperate for a job.LargeAddick said:

So desperate that they'll overlook team meddling for a buck.0 -

Who on earth is Keith Hill?2

Is Hill currently in a job? If so we will actually be paying a fee for him.0

Looks like he's been sleeping rough for a few weeks. Love the coat and tracksuit combo.0

And Charlton fans haven't got a good word to say about Pardew. Ask a Palace fan what he thinks.Weegie Addick said:Don't think many Forest fans have much good to say about Davies.
