Fine, he should have been more professional like Nick Pope, to name but one.soapboxsam said:That Centre back Rojo likes to Swear
on the field or anywhere.
He will curse at a fan,
or even at his own old Nan.
I would like to wager a bet,
that RoJo might have a touch of Tourettes.
Is Johnson just a lout.
Should the management say Roger;
Over and out.
The fans upset with swearing?, when before the start of the Bury match, a group of fans,?, approached the Bury fans maybe 20?, doing no harm, and proceed to give their famous hand gestures, and then proceed to sing the Adams family!!!..

I now have that choice...in advance.
In terms of posting on here, my understanding of what you mean by 'will you stop posting on here as well?' is that other yourself and possibly other posters think I am scum, or irrelevant and unwanted wadding, so your implication is that I should stop posting on here because of the extended reasoning regarding my going to Bury.
Am I right in what I interpret your meaning to be?1 -
Some of the abuse of the players has definitely got worse in the last few years - a symptom of the discontent - I'm not defending rojo and I think he is a liability. He was brought in at the request of jj however. Despite that pro's r expected to ignore the a use, I know I wouldn't, particularly if near the end of my career so if you ant take it back, don't dish it out.0

Just read an interview Meire did earlier today in Dublin which touched on this incident:
"Some fans believe it's not on when players get lemon after you've cheered them on and paid £100 travelling the length of the country.
But for example if you were in a cinema and complained to your friend on leaving that the film was not great and the manager of the Odeon said to you "Don't come back then if you don't like it you smarmy fat balding shit **** bollox wanker arsehole" as he sniffed a line off the pop corn counter, you would not think to complain.
But football fans are touchy weirdo pondlife scum which is unique."21 -

No you're not right. You said,
"If before getting the Bury train and match tickets I had know that at least one of the players regarded me as scum at worst, or irrelevant and unwanted wadding at best, then my choice would have been not to go."
So that's what you have interpreted Johnson meant. Therefore by implication, you have said you will no longer attend any Charlton matches, whilst Johnson is a Charlton player.
On that basis I was wondering whether you'd stop posting on CL as well as stop attending Charlton games, whilst Johnson remains a player.
Perhaps, you did not mean what you said and were getting carried away ?3 -
I don't understand why you are connecting attending games and posting on Charlton life with regard to Johnson.Covered End said:No you're not right. You said,

You are right in that I interpret Johnsons attitude towards fans that we are scum, irrelevant and unwanted however.
I also talked about Bury not about my future intentions, that is something you choose to introduce.
if I attend Charlton matches in the future, and Johnson is about, then I would have a choice as to what to yell at him in the light of what happened at Bury.3 -
Okay. A summary.
Roger is not a very good footballer. He is also past his best.
He has some naff tattoos; thereby indicating that he's not the sharpest.
He has some previous.
He played in a shit match, got tetchy and abused some fans.
The fans were also tetchy (see aforementioned shit match).
There's been an apology (of sorts).
The whole matter could have been better handled by the club. (Nothing new there.)
Roger is unlikely to feature for the first team again unless some better players get injured. (Or it's the cheapskate trophy or whatever it's called.)
My take on the matter is it's time to move on.
The righteous indignation has probably been over done now.
P.S. I spoke, briefly, with Roger Johnson once when he first pitched up at the club. He'd parked his SUV next to my SUV in the West Stand car park. This being Charlton there was no longer actually room to get out of the doors. Roger apologised for having to rest his car door on mine and slipped out carefully making sure he didn't damage the paintwork. I told him it was just as well he was such a skinny git. He was entirely amiable and laughed off my comment. Mrs cafcfan suggested he might have preferred the word slim to skinny. Its quite easy to use the wrong words sometimes.

However, you are now saying that you will consider going to other games if Roger Johnson is still at the club.

It wasn't unexpected, and luckily for me I had gone to Lincoln the previous Sunday to visit her.
I continued to go to the football thinking it would be an OK experience and I would be able to escape from reality for a while. The experience turned out to be awful with the extra spice of one of the players I travelled to support overtly despising that effort.
I don't know why you feel I have to explain myself to you, but you are swift to dig me out whether it be on the post Brexit thread, or the ticket thread and now as another example on this Roger Johnson thread.
If you wish to target fellow Charlton supporters, perhaps you would consider spreading it around a bit.0 -

Perhaps you might wish to pause to consider that each poster has their individual writing style and essentially variety is the spice of life.
Your personal world view is valid, but so is the world view of others who post here, not everybody will conform to the standard that you might prefer.2 -
