Fucking hell. Train on fire at dartford and train broken down at sidcup. Sidcup line completely fucked. Everything diverted down bexleyheath line. Total chaos. I'm lucky as I was going to crayford and my train (Strood train on the Sidcup line ex Charing Cross) has just been diverted to dartford but pity any poor sods behind me.

1.8% rise on fares next year ladies and gents.

Keith Shepherd, 53, a business analyst from Dartford in Kent, said delays on his regular route were "considerably worse than in the bad old days when season ticket prices were reduced to compensate passengers for 'poor' performance".
He added: "My journey has to be delayed by more than 100% of the expected journey time in order to receive any compensation, and even then they use ridiculous calculations to minimise the amount they have to pay."
Manuel Cortes, general secretary of the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association, said private profit was being placed above rail safety.
"Our rail fares are already the highest in Europe and today's increases will only make that record worse," he added.
"It's time that ministers gave rail passengers a break and actually froze fares in real terms."
The union-led Action for Rail group said it was planning to stage protests at a number of stations in England, Scotland and Wales on Tuesday.

I got so fed up with it all - got a Moped.

Cost me £15 a week in fuel max and takes 45 mins to get from Bexley to Shoreditch.

Apparently a train caught fire somewhere as well so that caused more fun. I managed to catch the 6:45 train at 7:30 and I'm still on it. Not getting anywhere too fast...

A train probably caught fire in Aberdeen but has a knock on effect on Southeastern.

Reports of a leaf on the track in Strathclyde - South Eastern have implemented an emergency timetable as a precaution with immediate effect, and this will remain in place until further notice.

But passengers can rest assured that the heating systems will be working at full temperature during the disruption.

Not surprised they catch fire when they have the heating on full blast!

Not defending these thieves one bit, but isn't signal failure, which is what the problem has been all week, network rails fault?!

Just heard a driver speaking to a member of platform staff at Chatham. He said that the control room lost all connection with the chatham-Rochester area so had no idea where any of the trains were. So just told them all to stop. And there was a long wait while they tried to regain the connection then they decided to let the trains go using the phones so they are making them go slow and with a bigger gap between each train... brilliant!

actually done something to please me this morning they have started running a 5.47 train from barnehurst to Victoria which is ideal for work, admittedly there were about 20 people on it when we got off at Victoria but still v handy for me.

My 0820 from dartford to Charing Cross is now the 0821 and has two extra carriages. It's absolutely heaving. No idea where all these extra peeps have come from unless they all use London Bridge and they are returning after two years. Just approaching London Bridge now so will get a look at the new unveiled platforms.

    PS. It's late! Fancy that.
