never ever and no way is it gonna happen .. BUT ... Never say never .. I'd love it .. the publicity alone would be worth 10 points .. sooner have Fwank Lampard Jnr thoughCAFCsayer said:Irrelevant question... What would people's take be on Gerrard being appointed player manager considering he's probably exactly what we need in midfield and would score goals for fun

RD and KM would never consider Gerrard. He's nowhere near qualified to manage in the English leagues. He's not even managed a Belgian 3rd division team yet.Lincsaddick said:

Would paul hart come with Nathan jones ? Doubt it.1

I reckon they should put ten random names together and pull one out of the hat.0

There wasn't that much wrong with Slade, he just needed to grow a pair offensively. All the stuff he did behind the scenes, and recruitment of players like Ulvestad, was good.
If like against Port Vale, Nugent has a go at this league with his formations and tactics then perhaps, for stability if nothing else, him and Clark could be the way forward.4 -
Nathan Jones is a really good shout. I'd live to see us go with a promising young manager like that. Can't see him in the odds though2
-
Why would he leave Luton for us? He's got a stable job in a club he knows well, giving that up for us would make no sensesuperclive said:Nathan Jones is a really good shout. I'd live to see us go with a promising young manager like that. Can't see him in the odds though

Charlton is still a big club with in this league and as a pro he might feel he needs to give it a shot. Clutching at straws? Maybe1

Jones loved his time here and done exceptionally well, but he has a good thing going with Luton where he is building something properly. It's a good little club that he would have full control over what happens day to day.killerandflash said:

Also has too much respect for himself and his mate Chris Powell. Under different ownership I think he'd jump at the chance, and is the right type of manager we would be needing to look at, but as things stand, he's better off at Luton and I believe he would think the same if it came to it.
Oh it's so depressing of what a mess everything really is..8 -

Is that what Katrien asked you on Saturday?Swisdom said:Given the choice who would you vote for?
Robinson
or
Caldwell
Robinson for me
Thing is we fans don't get a vote and rightly so.
Unfortunately the criteria isn't who is the best manager but who's going to do what he's told by Duchatelet
One, the other or neither would suffice1 -

In a Kent newspaper/website why are Leeds even mentioned in the headline? Why not just "ex-Charlton man wants to return to manage them"c4fcdenmark said:Ex-Leeds and West Ham man wants Charlton Athletic return

I heard the interview (by the way KM, both the interviewer and Lee were in the same room!), Lee did not sound like the brightest button in the box and I think he may struggle to get his point across without punching someone.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

I also think that if there was even a sniff he was being considerd for a job, his past court case would make it very difficult. Not someone I would want anywhere near our club.2 -
Thank you O/S!!Pedro45 said:0 - Sponsored links:

Was always looking like an appointment at back end of this week. If it is Black Friday then I'm going to be fuming.
If no one comes in until the end of the week I'd HOPE that Nugent is in charge for Sheffield United... Dont really want someone coming in late and then trying new things ahead of what will be a huge match!!1 -
Good to see an update on the O/S. Very professionally worded - work of the new comms guy? Hope Nugent is on the list...3
-
That's just written in such a cold detached manner - it's almost as if it was by someone with no feeling whatsoever for the club and its fans. Oh! Hold on...Pedro45 said:3 -
According to BBC football rumours today, Bury have received 70 applications for their open manager position.
I wonder how many we received?0 -
In other words no fucker wants the job, but don't worry some desperate plum will be along shortly.Pedro45 said:0 -
Really? Think it's poorly worded myself. Shouldn't it be 'Charlton Athletic are' not Charlton is'?cafc-west said:Good to see an update on the O/S. Very professionally worded - work of the new comms guy? Hope Nugent is on the list...
