Sorry for your loss Sam, same age as my son.

    I'm in bits reading this.
Oh Sam/Julie what you & your family must be going through.
I wish I could be there Saturday to take part in such a fitting tribute to your son. I hope you all take some solice from the gesture and know that your Charlton family are there for you too.
    RIP Liam.
    Too young.

I too have a son the same age and he's also recently become a father. I cannot begin to imagine how you are feeling Sam/Julie.

Many thanks once again to you all for your kind messages.

Liam's funeral will be taking place on Mon 30th Jan at 2pm Polesworth Abbey.

All I can ask is for participation by all at The Valley in the tribute to Liam on the 29th minute. Liam's wife Sarah & her family are travelling down from Tamworth for the match & although it's going to be an emotional day for us all it's going to be a very proud one as well.

If you are on Facebook or Twitter please spread the word with the poster that it doing the rounds. Unfortunately I don't know how to post attachments on here but if you go onto my Facebook page Joey Newmarket Joe Meadows it is available on there not unless someone could kindly post it on here for me please.

Many thanks to you all once again & please let's do this for Liam xx

    RIP Liam

As a very tired old cynic of just about everything in the pro football world it is really heart lifting to read this thread and catch a watery eye. There is a good side, just the one, it is the fans.

Credit to the club for ringing you. It was something I was wondering about this morning. I'm glad it will be done at the next home match.
