Thinking a bit more about this, the Dorne army are still in play too right? The Greyjoy fleet was attacked before picking them up.North Lower Neil said:

I think if the writers want him to have Stannis's fleet, they could make sure that happens. Not sure there was ever any dialogue about what happened to those boats after the return from Hardhome.
Davos to lead the fleet south after Dany/ Jon come to an agreement? She needs him badly now. They've done a really good job of slow-playing those two getting together (probably over two episodes, but still...) and bumping off enough characters to a) streamline the story and b) force the remaining characters together.
It should get better and better as there are fewer plot threads to dot between.0 -

They had to sail past Dorne to get to Dragonstone in the first place. They could've picked up the Dornish army on the way to Dragonstone and saved all this trouble. Rookie mistake.0
