think its all being set up for jon to find out he's a targaryen at the end of the series... or at least he'll just miss bran at winterfell for some weird frustrating stark-like reason.

Should say 'King in the North'
but then the joke wouldn't make sense
It would be a direct link to the episode!

As others have said, strong episode.

Good that Cersei seemingly has the upper hand. Danerys will have to change tac now.

Who is left to fight cersei now other than the unsullied, dothraki and whoever else Danerys has. Martell and the Tyrell's taken out the equation

    Levels the playing field

The Unsullied, the Dothraki and 3 dragons is still a huge threat.

Good it's been made a closer fight though!
Thinking a bit more about this, the Dorne army are still in play too right? The Greyjoy fleet was attacked before picking them up.

And they likely to be loyal to Danaerys rather than the Lannisters.

Isn't the point that they can't join the fray without being shipped over ?

I think if the writers want him to have Stannis's fleet, they could make sure that happens. Not sure there was ever any dialogue about what happened to those boats after the return from Hardhome.

Davos to lead the fleet south after Dany/ Jon come to an agreement? She needs him badly now. They've done a really good job of slow-playing those two getting together (probably over two episodes, but still...) and bumping off enough characters to a) streamline the story and b) force the remaining characters together.

It should get better and better as there are fewer plot threads to dot between.

They had to sail past Dorne to get to Dragonstone in the first place. They could've picked up the Dornish army on the way to Dragonstone and saved all this trouble. Rookie mistake.

The boats were full of unsullied and dothraki at the time though.

Wil they though? She only came to power by killing the Prince.

Its a shame the Sand Snakes didnt feature more prominently in the series, they added a sense of fun in a sinister way.....no mention of the other 5 Sand Snakes at all either. Nymeria was particularly good looking (Jessica Henwick).

Jessica also stars in Netflix's Iron Fist, alongside Finn Jones who played Loris Tyrell. Check that out if you haven't already, although you need to be a Marvel fan if you do so.
Yes I will check it out, thanks.

Never really looked at the map before. The Wall stops the White Walkers from passing. Why don't they sail (or just walk under the sea) around it?

Doubt they even need to sail. They could just freeze the water and make an ice bridge.

it looks like they could just walk around the left hand side, just a river in the way

The reasoning is that the magic spells that are embedded in the wall extend well beyond the wall's physical reach.

Well apart from when the Hound Clegane looked into the flames and saw the white walkers passing round the sea end of the wall? Or did I dream that bit?

Presumably something (like Bran being marked) makes that possible for the first time. They've not walked around it before (p'raps you were asleep for the Broadbent/ Wall speech last week!).

Admitting to watching his sister get raped was particularly grim last night.

Is the one thing that all Charlton fans agree with that Bran is rubbish ?
