  • Murphy should really get through to Semi's, next couple of days are the tough ones to call. Watched alot of Ding vs Hamilton yesterday was very poor, Hawkins vs Day the opposite starting with 3 tons and good standard. Well done Hamilton.

Ronnie has a tough draw, Robertson and then winner of Higgins / Mcgill

Selby's is tougher, Lliang Wembo and then winner of Trump/Brecel.

Recorded the rest of the week but might just skip if i know results or looks dull.

Murphy should win i agree but his last couple of months have been not his greatest a few shock defeats losing to players like
    Slessor in indian open
Wells in first round of world open
Yuan Sijun in Shanghai Masters qualifier
    Ursenbacher in english open

Then was very dissapointig in losing 6-2 to carter last week.

His game isnt were he wants it at the moment and think King actually has a chance

Personally i think White will.be the player who gets through today
  • I think it could be anyone really , but i'd say personally Murphy is on the best form of any of them. Even with losing some he shouldn't, Fu if he is on form will be tough to beat, likewise Michael White.

I think Murphy has a very good chance today, others similar its short format best of 7 for first match so more chance there of Murphy getting beaten.
  • Michael White 4-3 Marco Fu

A very topsy turvy first match of the day goes the way of White

4th match of the tournement and all 4 have been won by the lower ranked player

Can King keep it up or can Murphy finally end the bad run for higher ranked players
  • Shaun murphh 4-2 Mark King

As predicted last night tonights group final is

    White v Murphy
  • Shaun Murphy 6-4 Michael White

Murphy into saturdays semi final against tge winner of tomorrow's group
  • Mark Selby 4-3 Liang Wenbo

    Luca Brecel 4-0 Judd Trump
    Poor performance from Trump there

Mark Selby v Luca Brecel in group final

  • Luca Brecel 6-4 Mark Selby

Shaun Murphy v Luca Brecel in saturdays semi final
  • Not updated this as i kept forgetting so quick round up

    Ronnie O'Sulivan beat Neil Robertson
    John Higgins beat Anthony McGill

Ronnie O'Sullivan beat John Higgins and faced Anthony Hamilton in fridays Semi

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 6-2 Anthony Hamilton(Hamilton was 2-0 ahead)

So Ronnie is in tomorrows final against the winner of Murphy or Brecel
  • Shaun Murphy 6-4 Luca Brecel
Just like the other semi this had a good comeback Murphy was 3-1 and 4-2 behind

    Todays final
    Shaun Murphy v Ronnie O'Sullivan
  • Ronnies head has gone 7-4 down with his head gone its murphys to lose now

SHAUN MURPHY IS CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS CHAMPION

    Shaun Murphy 10-8 Ronnie O'Sullivan

Good comeback from Ronnie from 9-5 down but a couple of frames early in the evening session Ronnie lost his head a bit and those probably cost him
  • As is the schedule of World Snooker now

    Jamie Jones 5-2 Mark King
    Graeme Dott 5-3 Xiao Guodong
    Robert Milkins 5-4 Lyu Haotian
    Michael White 5-4 Mark Davies
  • Due to early matches i keep watching then forgetting to update this(not that anyone reads it anyway)

Not to many shocks so far so will just go over the last 16

    Mark Allen v Jack Lisowski
    Graeme Dott v Luca Brecel
    Martin Gould v Marco Fu
    Barry Hawkins v Ronnie O'Sullivan
    John Higgins v Liang Wenbo
    Stephen Maguire v Judd Trump
    Mark Williams v Mark Selby
    Mei Xiwen v Kurt Mafflin

Ronnie has high break with 144 so far

Higgins close to 147 today but had an in off on the brown.

As I have stated before Jack Lisowski starting to get to later stages of tournaments, wont be long till he wins won(maybe even this season)

  • Kurt Maflin 5-2 Mei Xiwen
    Jack Lisowski 5-4 Mark Allen
    Luca Brecel 5-4 Graeme Dott
    Judd Trump 5-0 Stephen Maguire
    John Higgins 5-2 Liang Wenbo
    Martin Gould 5-2 Marco Fu
    Ronnie O'Sullivan 5-0 Barry Hawkins
    Mark Williams 5-3 Mark Selby

Selby out, while O'Sullivan and Trump bag whitewashes.

Just about to update this and seen its already been done lol

Judd Trump has not dropped a frame this week he is playing Brecel who has only dropped 4 all of them against Dott

Martin Gould has only dropped 2 frames
  • Quarter final is in 15 minutes

    Luca Brecel v Judd Trump
    John Higgins v Martin Gould
    Kurt Mafflin v Jack Lisowski
    Ronnie O'Sullivan v Mark Williams
  • Judd Trump 5-0 Luca Brecel

Trump is the first man in the Semi Final and has won all 4 matches 5-0
  • Here's a genuine question or two for all you snooker (and betting) experts.

As far as I can tell since the World Champs have been held at the Crucible (40 years this year I believe) it has been won as follows:

    Hendry 7
    Davis 6
    O'Sullivan 5
    Higgins J 4
    Selby 3
    Williams M 2

In addition14 players have won it once.

The correlation between the number of times won and the value of the balls is apparent and if 2018 throws up a first time winner, say Judd Trump they will match exactly and total 42.

So my questions are; is it possible to place a bet now on a first time winner in 2018 which encompasses the pattern above, what do people think the odds would be and most importantly, am I correct?

Firstly if the bet u want is any first time winner then most places would do it bit u would probably need to go into a shop or enquire online.

On bet365 Trump is 3rd favourite ding is 4th both never won before so price you are probably looking at 7/1 maybe 8/1.

Will it happen is a tougher question. Former chanpions O'Sullivan(although i think format is to long for him) Higgins and Williams all looking good atm.

You can never discount Murphy, Robertson or Bingham on the big stage.
And selby will be looking to retain for a 3rd year and his 4th in 5 years.

Trump is playing fantastic atm on his day Ding can be unstoppable.

So I wouldnt rule it out wouldnt be surprised to see a Trump Selby final

    That's incredible.
I love stuff like this and now I can't wait for the tournament and I'll be praying for a first time champ.
  • Didnt update this yesterday but final was won easily by Ronnie O'Sullivan
    Ronnie O'Sullivan 10-3 Judd Trump

Northern Ireland open starts tomorrow if Ronnie wins he will be halfway to a million pound
  • Day 1 of the Northern Ireland open didnt actually finish until an hour ago after a few tough matches.

    Day 1 Results
    Noppon Saengkham 4-1 Hamza Akbar
    Jamie Barrett 4-1 Ian Preece
    Li Hang 4-3 Cao Yupeng
    Robin Hull 4-3 Eden Sharav
    Yu Delu 4-1 Craig Steadman
    Tian Pengfei 4-2 Vahedi Soheil
    Ricky Walden 4-0 Miah Hammad
    Neil Robertson 4-1 Jamie Jones
    Ashley Hugill 4-2 Josh Boileau
    Alex Borg 4-3 Peter Ebdon
    Adam Duffy 4-2 Rory McLeod
    Thepchaiya 4-2 Allan Taylor
    Jimmy White 4-3 Dominic Dale
    Niu Zhuang 4-3 Ian Burns
Hossein Vafaei Ayouri 4-2 Anthony Hamilton
    Chen Zifan 4-1 Shaun Murphy
    Robert Milkins 4-3 Alfie Burden
Billy Joe Castle 4-2 Declan Brennan
    Sam Craigie 4-1 Kyren Wilson

    Elliot Slessor 4-0 Kurt Dunham
    Joe Perry 4-3 Gerard Greene
    Mark King 4-1 Matthew Bolton
    Mei Xiwen 4-0 Jordan Brown

So Shaun Murphy obviously biggest shock.of the day but also a surprise to see
    Peter Ebdon
    Rory McLeod
    Dominic Dale
    Anthony Hamilton
    Kyren Wilson
Mark Davis all lose so early.

33 matches tomorrow but that could go down to 31 with 2 big names possibly pulling out.

Judd Trump- Issues with an airline having his cue still from last weeks tournament in Shanghai, He said yesterday unless he gets it back he will pull out(snooket players hate using someone else cue, most play with same cue all there career)

Mark Williams- Not sure what is wrong but he has tweeted a few times this past week about going up to hospital with his wife, she went back in yesterday and he said he will make a decision in the morning if he is playing or not.
  • No confirmation either way from Trump or Williams but there have been 2 further withdrawals
    Martin O'Donnell and Luca Brecel
So Michael Holt and Fang Xiongman have got byes into the 2nd round
  • Below is a list of todays matches the player whose name is first is the player I expect to win.

    Zhang Anda v Akani Songsermsawad
    Sam Baird v Zhanh Yong
    Ali Carter v Chen Zhe
    Scott Donaldson v Wang Yuchen
