What I expected during a takeover.

"I’ve loved every second of being here. I’ve really put my heart and soul into it – so have my staff. But this club needs something quick. From what I’m hearing, we don’t know where we’re at."

At least we're only talking weeks for a takeover now from that latest Londononline article, two and four mentioned rather than up to three months previously................. Well I can hope can't I?

It was only in Robinson's delusions that we were ever getting any decent players, club being sold or not.

    Italian international?
  • Doubt anyone is surprised at this. RD is a tight c*nt anyway, so as if he was going to give Robinson any money to bring players in where we're potentially a few weeks from a takeover.

Even if you play Football Manager, you aren't allowed to make any signings whilst the club is in takeover talks.

  • Of course, the other side of the coin here is that Robinson is safe in his job regardless of results as RD will not want to pay anyone off while the takeover is going through.
  • Not very surprising at all. I still reckon we will pick up 1/2 players (loans/frees) towards the end of the window.

I would bring back RCC from Woking and start praying that Josh will start to begin scoring again .

Who would have thought it. Robinson clearly doesn't read this forum or he would have known what to expect.

no surprise if anything this is the time to prove his worth to new owners, as if he carries on with current form 1st thing id be doing as new owner is to give him the sack. not defending the guy but if i was Roland i would do exactly the same, and as a prospective new owner i would probably wait till after the transfer window as were pretty much safe in this league even if we draw ourselves to safety, players will return to fitness etc.

Utterly depressing but equally utterly predictable.

Would have been the same had there been no takeover discussions.
  • Of course it’s true that signings are never likely during a takeover, but this situation has been ongoing for many weeks. Due diligence was under way by early October, to my knowledge. Nothing else KR could do but plan, but it appears he was allowed to believe he would be able to make signings in January because, as he told us at the end of October, there was nothing happening. It’s not surprising he’s frustrated because he’s now having to stand his previous transfer window statements down. It’s also classic manager positioning to exert pressure on directors and locate the blame for outcomes on them.

Then it's his own fault for (once again) spouting off to the press instead of just shutting up and getting on with his job.

It didn't take a genius to work out we weren't going to be splashing the cash given RD is trying to sell the club.
  • Agree with everyone saying bring back the loans we have out there. We will be paying most if not all of their wages so it's no increase to RD.

Exactly. Cant help think that Robinson knows this as well and is using the hard done by angle in that interview. He knew full well what he was in for when he joined.

And we'll carry on with our current form without new bodies in. 1 fit striker won't bring us the goals. No reason to sack him now, as anyone else brought in will have the same squad.

this with bells on much like the statement of " well not be out of the top 6 all season" hes a nice chap ( well comes across as ) but ultimately hes a yes man says what people want to hear and you cant do that in football especially in a club where the fans have been in the dark for the best part of 3 years, there going to hang on every word you say, so drop the kr show and just give us a show on the pitch.

The Recent Results I rekon are due to the Take over News, add this to what KR is saying now must be very Frustrating for him, his staff and the players. to start the season looking. For promotion and then loosing some of your Tools for the job and not being able to add as was previously discussed.

You're forgetting that dear old Katy probably negotiated the loan deals so not only are we still likely to be paying the wages, we've probably also agreed to pay the loan clubs a fee for taking them off our hands and there's almost certainly a 6 month notice period for us to recall them.
  • In other news water is wet and bears shit in the woods. Just piss off RD.

Best thing he can do now is a Powell, refuse to play any enforced signings and only play the players he wants in a 4-4-2...

No different to any other January window under Duchatelet. We start the month hoping for permanent signings and end with loanees.

Robbo said we have not got a fit striker in the building.

I would suggest he plays a revolutionary 4-6 on Saturday; with Grant and Mivi playing in front of the other four midfielders.
