My guess would be that RD has seen we now have a moderate chance of a playoff place and has moved the goalposts at the last minute. Absolute tosser.

Not sure that's the case as I heard about the middle eastern interest on Thursday.
One thing I know for a 100% fact is that Roland asked the Scottish group to give him 5mil if we were promoted by 2020. He was constantly moving the goalposts.

Perhaps he changed his mind on that or negotiated this into any deal, but it would not surprise me one bit if Roland was making calls adding a mil or 2 at 5pm yesterday.

Maybe old Roland putting out story of Aussies deal done to get others to close deal. Aussies been around for a year, suddenly Andrew Muir is involved? For how much? Who else is investing?
Lots of bluff and double bluff going on here I would assume.
    WIOTOS

There is a substantial backstory to Andrew Muir’s involvement, which dates back to last summer. The durability of that - even if you think it’s not true - is evidenced by the cover of VOTV136 last August.

There hasn’t been any significant rumour about the identity of the “second” group other than Murray telling staff it was British. If you’re going to point to the public insubstantiality of the Aussie group, this is much more true of the other one.
They are one and the same, searching for cash then they found Muir, but still way short on their bid.
Not Murray’s choice either from all accounts, he is tied in with another bid we here.

Reading this post I've remembered that RM stated yesterday that of the 2 groups, one was his particular "favourite".
Given how his judgement has taken a complete nose dive in recent years, I hope we go for the other one then!

Roland heard that we won with a new manager yesterday and wants to see if we'll get into the play offs and get promoted so he can ask for more money.

It's very much been a case of the usual twitter bods bleating on as if they have some inside scoop then saying things like 'its done but it's not done'
Realistically none of us will know until it's announced on the official channels.
    End of.

I would be surprised if there were not already add-on clauses in any draft agreement - x on promotion to the Championship, y on promotion to the PL. On that basis it should already be accounted for.

I really hope it's done tomorrow, for the obvious reasons, but also to see how many of the ITKs on here have got the front to say, 'There you go. Exactly as I predicted.'

    Call for Doucher
  • I suspect there is as much chance of a takeover being announced tomorrow as there is that Hull will be widely accepted with Oxford and Cambridge as one of our three great historic universities

AFKA, you are treading on thin ice my friend! I was at Hull Uni from 1973-76. A great place in those days. The poet Phillip Larkin was the head of the university library in those days.

One thing I know for a 100% fact is that AFKA asked the Henry to give him £50 if he promoted him by 2020.

    End of.

Seems to be a lot of spurious information leaking out about the sale from multiple sources, not all of which can be correct.

Not sure if it isn't deliberate.

Seems like this takeover could last longer than The Mousetrap. Of the almost 600 pages I think only 3 or 4 have given me any hope.

Bit of a catch 22 - the longer it takes for the takeover to go through the longer Bowyer and Jacko are given a chance in their new roles!

    What would everybody prefer?

It would be such a shame for the Aussies to come in and immediately replace them!

Still on for Monday do you think mate?

Haven't heard any different to what I was told last week.
Aussies bid the most and won.
    £53m?.
Sounds about £20m out that doesn't it @NapaAddick
Yes, but if we include the value of Gomez that should be ours, I get close.

The great Poet has now passed on, so there's no more Larkin about.

Well, if waiting a little while longer means that we get better owners with more resources, then fine.

It's not as if we have any choice about the waiting bit, anyway, is it?

    Just trying to stay sane.....

How much ITK is he? (although the only one truly ITK is Roland I guess)
Former Director with a secured loan outstanding of £250k I believe.
So quite ITK then. Oh :(
    Quite possibly here's a breakdown of the former directors loans according to Airman in January totalling £7m;

As well as Murray's £2.6m, Derek Chappell and Bob Whitehand each have £1.2m outstanding, Sir Maurice Hatter £1m, David Hughes £500,000 and David Sumners and David White £250,000 each.
I'm still waiting on my £1 I paid towards the purchase of Ronnie Moore.

    We are still in talks.
Respect @ElfsborgAddick I only put 50p in the collection bucket, that's all the loose change I had  .
You're a funny fella Mr Chaser. A shame our paths will not cross for another 12 months....

As long as the sale includes the valley and sparrows lane and it's a complete takeover leaving Roland with nothing of our club I'll be happy.

Announcement: "Roland Duchatalet today completed the sale of Charlton Athletic FC, including all its assets, The Valley, Sparrows Lane training ground and all player registrations for a sum of £200m - with payment to be met over five years by the club - to Belgian businessman and investor Roderick Duchatalet".

Would you still be happy with this?

Hard to say for sure but it sounds like Roland is still moving the goalposts.

Amazing amount of patience being shown by the Aussies all things considered.
