A great day but feeling the aches and pains now!3
-
A great day, felt a lot longer with the extra mile over the last few years.3
-
Excellent if tiring day. Had to spoil it all by coming to the football afterwards. Great to meet a few lifers for the first time especially @AFKABartram, @DaveMehmet, @guinnessaddick, @suzisausage and @TCE with his lovely dogs. A few others too.4

Cracking day out as usual, well played to everyone concerned, especially the Upbeats! There are several parts of me however blistered beyond repair........3
-
For reference, it was actually 11.2 miles according to my satnav app so all my sponsors owe me another 10%. I thank you.6

Home safe, great to meet up again with some old mates as well as put some names to new faces, as usual the Upbeats reminded me of what is special about this great club of ours. Karl and Terry along with all the staff working so hard, lovely to catch up with @Tracey Leaburn. Lots cuddles for Bailey and Valli from those taking part in the walk as well as tourists asking if they could say hello at various points on route. Thanks to all the guys for your company on the route which for me totalled 17.3 miles van to van.9

Walked half back to Welling before jumping on a bus, just in from walking the dog, so far 19.5 miles for the day.T_C_E said:Home safe, great to meet up again with some old mates as well as put some names to new faces, as usual the Upbeats reminded me of what is special about this great club of ours. My legs are in tatters. If only the blokes playing on the pitch matched that effort and desire at 3pm5

Well done to everyone who did the walk.5

Great day as ever! Really good to be intoduced to more Lifers by our leader. Fantastic weather and route, especially on the penninsula. It certainly seemed a lot longer and the aches are setting in. Time for a white wine to numb the lot!
But, the best part of the day was meeting the Upbeats again: stars all of them. It was also very interesting to chat to some of the parents from Norwich whilst tucking into tasty chilli and rice.
Wow! So many wonderful people in the place.5 -

Had a great day. I have pics but no idea how to post or link from twitter etc. Legs tingling and stairs up to the lounge we’re a struggle but the cider helped numb the pain of a terrible game and now at home with more wine waiting for pizza!
Fab day. Up the Upbeats!

Oh dear. The walking wounded!
Sorry to have been a let down today. Family issues. I’ll be there next year.
Well done all. Ian’s currently telling me all about it....

Legs are aching. Feet are much much worse but having a foot massage machine seems to be bringing them back.
According to my app I’ve covered 12.4 miles today - honestly feels like more.
Well done all on surviving another walk. Same time same place next year......
(Ask me in a few days)2 -
Well done all. What was the total lifer headcount in the end?0

what a brilliant day, made you very proud to be part of 'our club'.
Great to see so many lifers along the way and meet some new, @DaveMehmet thankfully no blisters but a very tired son here mumbling on about 'can we do it again next year', and what an uplifting group of mates the upbeats are, enough to spur you on to the end. @charltonnick looked a broken man at the Anchor & Hope!6 -
Thanks for all the lifers for supporting this great project , so proud to be with these children/ adults every week so thanks to everyone for your on going support it’s so appreciated10

Thoroughly enjoyed the walk, good to meet some Lifers, pleased and proud to support the Upbeats.1

Genuinely one of my favourite days of the year this. Love walking with the people I do, some I literally only see once a year on this walk.
Don’t know if it was the sun or not but certainly found it a lot more challenging this year. Makes it worth it though, these things shouldn’t be too easy!
It’s such a great scheme and I’m so proud that we are all about to play a part in supporting it.
Carl K from the Trust has asked me to post the following:
“A great day which once again the CL members supported with passion and enthusiasm . Everyone involved with the Upbeats would like to send their thanks to all of you that donated, promoted and of course walked the walk. The support generated from CL is never taken for granted and has been crucial over many years to the success and development of The Upbeats project. I hope all of the blisters, aches and pains heal soon but I'm sure you agree it was all worth it. Carl”16 -

I am rubbish at taking photos, this is the only one I seem to have taken all day.
@DaveMehmet was totally correct, the scooter was a slight pain but mainly because Roo didn’t want to use it in the end after pulling a teary face on me as we left the house (‘but dad I can’t walk 10 miles I’ve only ever walked 5 before, I can’t come).
Anyway it turned out he could do it without the scooter and I have slightly more toned biceps from carrying the thing most of the way (thanks for the help guys).
Many of us said during the walk and before the game, a great day only to be applied by watching the first team on the pitch. Unfortunately we were right.7
