An interesting take on the situation especially as the Aussies came in for a lot of flack for allegedly outbidding Fawaz Al Hasawi if he is the prospective new ownerForeverAddickted said:Id be very surprised but are we sure this isnt the Middle Eastern that @RedHenry has been hinting at for months?
I know he said they were Saudi but may have got the Nation wrong seeing he said we'd know the person if the name was put in public domain, i.e. Not many Saudis out there that Id recognise by name to be honest.

It’s to show they were American as the Aussies prefer their beer holders “down under”flyingkiwiDK said:

Wouldn’t be too worried. Aussie Muir was pictured at the valley too, even with scarfy, and still nothing happened2

If Fawaz buys us do we get Billy Davies as manager?0

Possibly, for a couple of monthssimonmatthews said:If Fawaz buys us do we get Billy Davies as manager?

I ain’t gonna get too worked up about this, one way or the other.
Sounds like he made some serious errors at NF.....about all one can say (should this all come to pass), is exactly what role is he planning to take on?
Hopefully somewhat different from how he went about things at NF........I am going for a “just don’t know what to think” stance and sit somewhat boringly on the fence.

He's already passed the test to own Forest and unless there are criminal convictions, bankruptcies etc he'll pass with flying colours.ValleyGary said:
A lot of us said this about RD when Standard fans warned us. I’m not sure the EFL can pass this bloke there is a lot of attention on them at the moment.roseandcrown said:I’m prepared to give him a chance! Get of round and see how it goes

Prior to Forest, from 2010-12, he was president of Kuwaiti side, Qadsia SC who won two Kuwaiti Premier League titles and two Emir Cups along with the Federation Cup and the Super Cup.
Not to be sniffed at.23 -
To be fair a forest fan on twitter said to wrap ourselves in bacon and chain ourselves to the gates... easily could be seen as Islamophobic. Or just stupid.i_b_b_o_r_g said:
Islamiphobia? Wtf lolLeuth said:Taking the criticism with a giant pinch of massive-club-itis and an even gianter pinch of casual Islamophobia

Ok boring stuff I was told a few years back when he was at forest interviewing someone to work for him , this is third hand .
He was very eager to get the prospective employee to guess how many Ferrari’s he had , think he had 30 or something ridiculous.
He gets a budget of £10m (think that was the number) a month from his family and was happy to spunk a mill a month on forest .

Well James Seed has assured us The Aussies have agreed a price, have the funds and haven't pulled out so stop panicking.11

It sounds like Fawaz is RD's twin brother.
However, he didn't get Forest relegated and I don't recall Forest's supporters boycotting.
So surely he can't be quite as bad ?2 -
Probably my favourite Saudi...Redhenry said:

Andy Reid is quite complimentary and the other article where Fawaz says he’d learn from the mistakes he made are comforting. RD can’t learn because in his deluded mind, he hasn’t made any

I’d take this fella over Roland8

If he takes over I reckon he will turn up to matches more often than Duchatelet.1

Personally, I’m open minded at this stage. One of the great things in life is the ability to learn from previous experiences. Some do and positively adapt, some don’t and repeat mistakes.
Much of the dislike from Forest fans stems from the second half of his ownership. This interview when he is two years into his ownership is a decent read imo.
One thing is sure, there’s no doubting this guy has the funds

Agreed, we've got to be open minded at this stage.3
-
Well he said this, which shows he has more self awareness than Douchebag.
"In football, some people can't take it when negative things are said about them. Not me. I like it when people say negative things because sometimes it makes me wake up. The man who says something bad about you, maybe he is right and maybe you are wrong. Maybe you can learn from what he says. I am not a god. I am a human being. I make mistakes. Everybody does."
Hasawi is absolutely committed to the idea of success. It is an obsession18 -
That interview is a million miles from what you’d ever hear Roland say. I know talking is easy but maybe he has learned from past mistakes.AFKABartram said:Personally, I’m open minded at this stage. The family business Bin Laden Group is a major Saudi engineering/construction conglomerate (though the nature of Saudi business means they have cash problems quickly - in the last year the Crown Prince was withholding payments and they were in serious trouble).cfgs said:

I did jokingly suggest them as possible owners way back when Saudi interest was first mentioned....

Very much open minded.
Let’s be honest - it wouldn’t be Charlton if it were done in a straightforward manner0
