Perhaps the most succesful false argument ever, though.Henry Irving said:

Could anyone openly anti-gun even get elected in the first place? I seriously doubt it。CharltonMadrid said:Another senseless tragedy and it just seems so regular now with no solution in sight, or at least a will to try to address it. There's just too much money and power in the gun industry in the US, and unless a President comes in that owes nothing to the gun lobbies sadly it won't change.
They pitch it as pro-gun or anti-gun when it reality it should be no gun control v some gun control.
Anyone favouring gun control will be labelled anti-gun and become unelectable, imo.0 -
Hopefully the younger generation will reject the obsession with guns. It might take a while but hopefully at some point there will be a tipping of the balance in favour of gun control.0

This will add social media to the list of reasons that absolutely cannot include gun control then...Callumcafc said:2 -

Sadly another mass shooting with reports of multiple fatalities at a shopping mall in El Paso, Texas.0
-
Tragic for the victims and families. No words to describe but at some point you have to stop having too much sympathy with a nation that continues to allow this senseless madness when it has a simple solution to hand. Fantastic people the Americans but batshit crazy in so many ways.0

I am watching CNN. Police are not releasing ANY info at the moment. One hospital official confirmed out of the patients they have taken in one died sadly. Various reports suggest a number of fatalities. They reckon it is going to be very very high.0

Sgt. Robert Gomez. There were about 3000 shoppers in mall packed out. Definetly fatalaties.0

BBC reporting at least 19 dead so far0

As someone living in Texas nowadays, this really hurts much more than any previous incident since I moved over here.
RIP to all the innocents enjoying their Saturday afternoon0 -
20 dead, 26 injured with 10 of those severe. The shooter is a white supremacist who drove 600 miles to do the shooting. Why? Rather than shoot in white Dallas, he drove right to the border town of El Paso, just a few miles from Mexico, which is mostly Hispanic. This pic is just starting to make the rounds. The Southern Poverty Law Center says they got this pic of the shooter's social media account before it was deleted.

And that pic doesn't include the weapon used in the shooting.NapaAddick said:20 dead, 26 injured with 10 of those severe. The shooter is a white supremacist who drove 600 miles to do the shooting. What will the NRA say?

More guns for mall staff, I'd imagine.hoof_it_up_to_benty said:What will the NRA say?

Well, some Texan politician has already come out and said that gun control wouldn't have stopped the shooting. Being prepared to protect yourself (i.e. armed) is the only option.Stu_of_Kunming said:

There are so many guns in circulation in the US that it seems any change will be unlikely.DRAddick said:

Trump's probably too busy tweeting about Sadiq Khan losing control of London's streets to comment.11
