well...... just got home from golf, read the headline and caught up on the 8 new pages of posts!  Damn shame i'm not working today or i'd of scoured the streets looking for Harris or Stavelely and got some answers.
Imagine if it was Staveley!!  Surely i should receive some sort of commendation for putting the idea of buying us in her head when she was last in my cab (i think i've picked her up 3 times). The timing does fit with Ashley's recent statement that Newcastle are not for sale. And yes think of all that arab money just waiting to be lavished on little old Charlton!
    Dreaming of a bright future!!!!!!!

The Standard article, if to be believed, does say the 'man' behind the bid which wouldn't point to Staveley.

Had my hopes up and seen them crash again too many times on us being rid of Roland the Rat, so this time, this rumour to me is a load of Cod's Wallop, yes fishy, next!

I must admit that this bit worries me slightly

"When contacted by Standard Sport, Charlton did not deny talks had taken place and referred to an update provided to the fans’ forum this week. The club say Duchatelet is not prepared to lower his asking price."

I read it that the implied £30 mill bid by our mystery banker is still not going to be good enough for Uncle Roly.

    Well it's this bit that absolutely stinks to high heaven for me;

Proof of funds has been supplied and it has been suggested that this is a more substantial proposition than those from five interested parties discussed at a fans’ forum in January.

Why would you even mention them?

They are clearly bullshit and don't exist.
Seems strange that it got an airing.

    Stinks of Roland.
    I call bullshit.

    The Standard article says:

’When contacted by Standard Sport, Charlton did not deny talks had taken place and referred to an update provided to the fans’ forum this week. The club say Duchatelet is not prepared to lower his asking price.’

But until they tell us what his asking price is, we’re no further forward. The £70m, if true, can only be with add ons for promotions etc, surely!

My hopes are not up because we know the bloke is a deluded old fool and he has no understanding that land values are meaningless when you can't build houses on the land! He is clearly being offered significantly more than he paid for the club. Had he got us into the Premiership, would he have deducted all the money he made from the club and sell us for a tenner?

Seems to think £30m would do it, not sure if that’s just him applying the same logic as any other sane person or maybe he knows this ‘more’ yet to come out. https://twitter.com/reluctantnicko/status/1103722479753850880?s=21

Reallisically Rat has one option. Take a haircut and lose SOME money, or hit the buffers and lose ALL of his money (in the club). Astute business men/women will sit tight. The silly old Twunt just won't accept this.
