Scoring rate so far in the Premiership not shabby playing for a shit team.
Happily applaud him him on his return; and when he gets his first full cap for England.
Not particularly anything against his ability but he’d have to do a lot to get anywhere near our current front 5, all of whom are young.
Grant’s best atrribute is his raw pace and willingness to go at a man. I’d say if he can stay in the Prem for any period of time he’d see that as a successful career.1 -

Messi would probably struggle playing for KR.
Seems Karl was wrong about Karlan being able to play on the wing...0 -

Won't be too many players who've played in all of those competitions by his age, never mind scored.2

Think he's gets more stick than most because of the Ibiza incident and the fact he acted billy big bollocks here before he did not anything decent0

You see, this could cause another mini debate but I am prepared to say it.
One of Grant’s best attributes is his pace, he is so quick I don’t think people realise just how quick he is. His willingness to run in behind players and at them now is going to cause any defence problems, especially with his pace.
Now, he isn’t as quick as Theo Walcott ever was but in my opinion he is technically better than Walcott. He is for sure a more natural finisher and I’ve seen Grant score a few free-kicks for example, he seems to have a bit more about him with the use of the ball than Walcott.
So in theory, would Grant not have a decent chance of making it at the top level and play regularly? I’m not saying he will play for England or actually ever be as good as Walcott was in his career at one stage for example. But he certainly has attributes that could benefit the national stage. My point is Walcott has made a Premier League career for himself, but overall I feel if you compare how one another are/was at 21, Grant has an overall more about him, in my opinion, than Walcott did. Grant has scored 3 times for an awful Huddersfield side in 7 games. Walcott scored 4 in 30 for a decent Arsenal side at the same age.
Now I am prepared to get criticism as Walcott has played a lot for England and in the Champions League etc. My point is Grant could look at his career and have belief he could do something similar, not as good, but use it as a positive influence and belief.1 -
He score 2 goals in the Premier League. The other was an own goal.....plain for anyone to see.
As for a natural finisher....do me a favour. Like most of the strikers we've had since Super Clive he can't score 1 on 1's - take a look at his effort against Palace last Saturday for proof. Should have hit it with his left but went with his right foot & the shot went off for a throw.
As for his free kicks......please do let me know when he scores from one won't you. I reckon he's in a competition with Ben Reeves for the most wasteful use of a dead ball.5 -

I also would love to know how many under age games you saw Grant play because I have seen a fair amount in the past and can remember him scoring a few free kicks. I never once said he scored any for the first team.
His first goal against Arsenal may have been an own goal, but fact is the Premier League awarded him the goal, that’s what the stats will now always say.
I wouldn’t expect you to come with any other response and as said, I am prepared for any criticism. But at least recognise the point being made and don’t pick out sections you want to see and interpret.2 -

People seem to have forgotten one of his final games for us when he missed 3 one on ones.5

Plus his penalty miss.
A more natural finisher than Walcott I don't think so.4 -

Once he scored, his goals dried up and he wasn't performing as well in training hence being dropped when we were relegated. It was in that 16/17 Season that he really struggled to get into the side and was clearly not favoured by the management team. It irritated many of us that he wasn't kicking on and that can have only have been down to himself... And possibly KR's management.
It seemed it was only the threat of having to live in League 2 that kicked his rear into gear.
He certainly has proven this season that his time at Crawley last season wasn't a one off and I can only see him continuing to grow and improve as a player.1 -
was definately bought for next season in mind as huddersfield have been down for a while - he will likely start week in week out for them and have a chance at coming back up, compared to fulham who have spent 100 million and a lot of players will be looking to move on.
imo he isn't that good and the guff about us being autos if he stayed is just opinion.0 -

They were alright till Christmas last season but have been shocking ever since.
Mid table beckons and Karlan Ahearne-Grant not getting 10 goals next season.1 -

Secondly, his name is Karlan Grant, there is no Ahearne anymore.
Finally, if he is played regularly throughout the Championship, I would say he will get double figures, everything he has done in the last year to 18 months points that way. Don’t write him off.0 -

Seems Karl was wrong about Karlan being able to play on the wing...
The success of Grant and Taylor was there ability to play wide while the other one went central, and vice versa.
Grant and Taylor can both do great work in the middle or as wide men. Playing Grant or Taylor just as wingers would be crazy but it does open up the pitch if you can play both roles during a match it's harder for big CB to mark.
I did this in youth football alternating my fast two strikers from the middle to the wing and it worked a treat just like it did for Lee Bowyer until the udders move for Karlan.
Stats don't tell the whole truth.0 -

The fact is he's 21, playing and scoring in the premier league, picking up around 20k a week, and we're a worse side without him.
He may only play there until the end of this season, but he may well play there again in future, and regardless he can still say he's done it, which is a lot more than most and a far cry from the league he was playing in 12 months ago.

Golfie in "continues to make the argument even after being proved wrong" shocker. There are some other very strange individuals raring to put a dampener on this kid's achievements this season. I'm glad people were able to pick out a few 1-on-1s and a penalty that were missed, rather than the numerous 1-on-1s or penalties that he did score? Do we need to pull out a video of Theo Walcott 2018/2019 to compare? It's bitterness and/or desperation to be proved right that leads to people pointing out blemishes. If he stays at Huddersfield next season then I have no doubt he will be there or thereabouts in the Championship 2019/2020 top scorers list.If he moves on to another Premier League team, I expect him to keep scoring goals and eventually force his way into England contention a la Callum Wilson.3
