Think I'd be tempted to try it if Parker is struggling.

I can see it being a tactic of the Donny players: wind up Lyle until he snaps.Dazzler21 said:I hope our game doesn't get heated as Lyle will get a red if it does.1 -
Solly | Taylor | Sarr all got three match bans for their first reds; Solly of course is on a four match ban for being his second redBriston_Addick said:
Should only be a one-match ban for that red card ... unless he's already been sent off this season in which case add an extra match for each red.ForeverAddickted said:
Yeah doesnt quite get to it... Oh well he misses the rest of the Play-OffsForeverAddickted said:I thought he got the ball
I would say that given how poor Sunderland have been one match may be the rest of their play-offs but as Pompey are just as crap, who knows?
I thought it was three games for straight red | one game for for two yellows?1 -
We got a mention!
Only Charlton have scored more corners than Portsmouth in L1 this season.2 -
Hadnt realised we had scored the most goals from corners until he said thatDazzler21 said:We got a mention!

That’s why I like Parker. With his size and presence, feel as if he takes a lot of the oppositions intense focus on Lyle away, leaving Lyle to achieve better scoring opportunities.Briston_Addick said:

Makes it a bit awkward when we constantly moan about our corners coming to nothing in gamespaulie8290 said:

Nice stat to hear. I remember hating corners in previous seasons.
That Maguire fella... He's alright isn't he!

It’s only bad fouls which get the 3 match ban, professional fouls get 1 matchForeverAddickted said:

Wasn't the Sarr red card classed as a professional foul?killerandflash said:

Who you talking about?Dazzler21 said:10 goals and 3 clean sheets in 3 games and leapfrogging the two teams above you certainly is not newsworthy these days.
Finishing the season as the in form side...
We're being ignored because we're being forgotten.1 -
And another mention, praising Lord Bowyer for the job he's done in exceptional circumstances.Dazzler21 said:We got a mention!

Makes a change from the rest of the commentary which has been an exercise in blowing smoke up Sunderland's/Pompey's/Jackett's freckle.4 -
No, it was a bad tackleForeverAddickted said:

Bar the red, a very decent ref.2

It depends on what the sending off is for. A straight red doesn't automatically mean a three-match ban.ForeverAddickted said:

Deliberate handball, "last man" challenges are punished by a one match ban; dangerous challenges, violent conduct result in a longer rest.1 -
Plymouth Goalkeeper should be taking notes... thats how you throw a ball out of play for injuries3

Play BeckenSarr up front and the oppo won't dare pick on Lyle for fear if having to deal with The Enforcer afterwards.stoneroses19 said:

Bit late to this thread but...
Leeds to beat Villa in the final of Championship
Charlton to beat Sunderland in the final of League One
Mansfield to beat Tranmere in the final of League Two2 -
There's no such thing as a "professional foul". That's just media speak.ForeverAddickted said:

Denial of clear goalscoring opportunity is the offence - red card, 1 game suspension.
Violent conduct, dangerous play, etc carry the 3 games suuspension.

Bold claim to say the promoted sides will be all three teams that finished in the highest positions of their respective LeaguesSage said:Bit late to this thread but...

Edit: Have researched; 2008 is the only year thats ever happened - Ironically it was Doncaster who finished third in League One that year that got promoted1 -

Surely if you spent 4m on a striker at this level (which must be more than half the divisions transfer spend combined), you'd build the team and system around him?ForeverAddickted said:

Or if not, then you'd at least buy a striker you knew would fit your system.
Sunderland have seemingly done neither, and just hoped for the best.1 -

"Professional foul" was how that kind of challenge was referred to in the late 70s/early 80s in that you were doing the right thing for your team knowing you'd only pick up a yellow for it. The most obvious example of that was Willie Young's challenge on Paul Allen in the 1980 FA Cup final.Oggy Red said:

Jimmy Hill was a major campaigner in getting the Laws changed to punish the "professional foul" with a red card.0 -
I will say it now. I'm now confident if we make it to the final that we've got our best chance to be back in the Championship since we came down.
Both Portsmouth and Sunderland were hopeless first half.1 -

Lankey long haired fella showing that Maguire got in his head.1

Like the look of that Sunderland RB. Wonder how much they’d ask for him if a team came in with an offer? (We’d have to get rid of Roland first...)1

We've got a better chance if we make it to the final than when we finished 13th and and when we lost in the semi's last year? MadnessDazzler21 said:I will say it now. I'm now confident if we make it to the final that we've got our best chance to be back in the Championship since we came down.
