    Surely if you spent 4m on a striker at this level (which must be more than half the divisions transfer spend combined), you'd build the team and system around him?

    Or if not, then you'd at least buy a striker you knew would fit your system.

    Sunderland have seemingly done neither, and just hoped for the best.

    What I mean is had we made it through the semis, we'd have had a tougher opponent than either Portsmouth or Sunderland of this year.

    Even allowing for the tension of the play-offs, what a desperately poor game of football. I can't imagine that Sunderland or Pompey will play that badly again, as neither team did themselves justice tonight. Certainly nothing to concern us or Doncaster on tonight's showing.

    Yet another sending off. Let's hope we can get through all the games with 11 men on the field.

    He’s hardly played so if they’re tired then that’s sad . Despite missing that sitter against Rochdale I think he looked good . He may have to come good if we’re to go up .

    I imagine that the crowds during the season accounted for all the season ticket holders that by the end of the season couldn't be bothered going because they weren't in the automatics

    Find it strange we've had eight days to prepare for the Doncaster first leg and then four days to prepare for the second

    Mansfield / Newport had four days to prepare for their first leg and just two days to prepare for the second
