Couldn't agree with you more on that. Basically the team that outplayed Luton recently apart from Djiksteel in it for Solly, which I would also agree with although Solly's experience may help.BR7_addick said:Phillips

Sunderland have shown that their defence is a strength at this level, but that team is a good few notches above the level. We shouldn't be defensive and try to out defend a defensive team. We have to impose our pace and quality on them.0 -

Sarr is important in that too, I don't want to see midfielders coming too deep to get the ball. I want them going at them where it hurts.8

I think the reason we bottled it last Friday was because we scored too early and effectively took the score to 2 nil. That's always a dangerous scorline especially if the other team pulls a goal back quickly, as Doncaster did. The added pressure of the occasion and eventual prize really affected some of them quite badly.Southbank said:

Bowyer has to make a decision about who he thinks can stand the pressure. Last Friday there were players like Sarr who have been great for months who looked hesitant. If he thinks we will win it through superior skill then it would be Sarr, Dijksteel and Morgan. I suspect he will start with the flair players and make a call when he sees how things are turning out. Or he may have already seen enough last week to go for experience over flair.

But some young players actually thrive on the big stage, I remember Paul Allen in the cup final many years ago, so hopefully Albie will, if he gets his chance. But as you say, Bowyer will know better than us, the mental strength of his players.1 -
Basically we fear players freezing and consequently even the contest out. No way! Play your best team. Sarr has to be in that! Prately had a great game on Friday, but he is somebody to use later if needed.3

I really hope that Sarr, Bauer and Bielik don't all have off-games like they did on Friday. Maybe Bauer's mind was very slightly elsewhere; that shouldn't be the case on Sunday. I'm now in England and will no doubt get more nervy as the game approaches. I'd expect Williams to replace Morgan in an otherwise unchanged line-up.

Solid formation but need the full backs to push up a bit as the danger with the diamond is that the midfield two can't cover much width, especially on a big pitch like Wembley's.
I understand people's concerns about Igor (should he start instead of Parker so that if he goes crook we've got a sub up our sleeve to replace him) but I think if he's fit he would be the perfect impact substitute: a pacy striker against a tiring (and, frankly, not very good) defence.
We have played far too well this season, and especially over the last three months, to throw this away now; the Mackems, on the other hand, have stumbled along since January and barely limped through the semis against Pompey. The Charlton faithful are up and about and enthusiastic; the Sunderland lot just seem dis-spirited with the way the season's gone.
I would love to see a Naby Sarr 35-yard thunderbolt into the top corner at the Charlton end as that would wipe out his unfortunate penalty miss last week and cement his place into Addicks folklore but I think our goalscorers will be Lethal Lyle and Super Joe in a not-as-comfortable-as-it-should-be 2-0 win.
