Phew, that was a struggle. An awful start with the own goal, but thankfully we then steadied things and got a very similar goal to Pratley's against Doncaster, great work again by Lyle put it on a plate for whoever got there first!
I think Bowyer after then got the decisions right, bringing on Pearce for Sarr and changing the shape, as something had to be done. This was a turgid game where you needed a battling defender out there. Then bringing on Williams against tired legs, but keeping Parker on as his running was stretching them and allowed Williams to attack wide areas, where he caused mayhem.
A real show of character today after the awful start, our team spirit pulled us through
Unreal. Was situated in the One Twenty lounge, great seats. Backed Bauer for last scorer, patted Lord Bowyer on the back as he walked up the stairs for the trophy and ruffled Lyle’s head. Last minute winner ? Charlton ? At Wembley ? Wtf !
Bloody hell I'm exhausted after all that. What a game! I can't even be bothered to post about the match itself apart from the fact I got to celebrate a win at Wembley with my dad, which has made me about as happy as I can be.
Also, at the back of the programme in the squad listing, Naby is listed as 'Baby Sarr'. Heh.
Every 21 years or so this happens and whilst a lot of my usual group were scattered about I saw some pals who I was delighted to see as well as getting to share that moment with my family

Cullen MOM for me, would love to see his return. Pratley was excellent for the time he was on, but Williams was brought on at the right time. Hon. mention to Purrington and Bauer for being solid at the back and lethal at the other end, for Parker who certainly didn't disgrace himself, and for Anfernee, who might just be developing into a top right wing back. Also, shouldn't be underestimated the fortitude it must have taken for Phillips to put the error out his mind, didn't put a foot wrong thereafter.
Wow can't quite believe it. Haven't always been convinced with Bowyer's substitutions but he absolutely nailed it today. And the switch in formation second half. Buzzing! Can't bloody wait for Sunderland til I die season 2!
Also so relieved for Dillon and Naby, after the season they've had it would've been so cruel if that had cost us.

Youngest son said it was the happiest he's felt in his whole life! Big son who 'doesn't like football' loved it, and sang along to all the songs getting the words wrong. I hugged Bob Boulder after the game (we did the Amsterdam ride together), hugged Olly and George too, and got a text off GM after the match. Heard he was in the royal box with Muir. I was wondering after the semis if promotion might trigger another look by someone. Who knows? I certainly don't, but if they were indeed in the box, then you'd think that must mean something? Hope Muir wasn't wearing a scarf though!
Couldn't believe what I was seeing when Dillon missed Naby's rather firm backpass. Could we have had a worse start? Both did so well to battle back from that. Dillon's save soon after was almost a worldy; and did he have a shot to save after that? Not a serious one that I can remember, which is remarkable! Absolutely incredible effort to come back from that OG in the way that we did.
Two great calls by Bowyer helped win the match. Naby had to come off after being booked and looking understandably jittery thereafter. They were clearly going to target him, and you could see a red card heading his way. Secondly, Williams for Pratley was a masterstroke, as it was an attacking move, and Williams was sensational from the moment he came on. What a cameo! Pratley was excellent though, hats off to him, as was everyone else, including Parker, who I don't think gave the ball away more than once, a remarkable effort really.
What a bloody lovely day! Even leaving Clapham Junction station and walking to the car, four separate people congratulated us on the win. Goose bumps. A day we'll never forget.
[Oh, and just remembered I had a couple of winning Paddy Power bets on promotion!]
What a day, that own goal I thought it was going to be a bad afternoon, would've been devastated to lose due to that but credit to us we came back and won it in the best possible way.
What a couple of weeks it's been being a Charlton fan.
Even the tube from hell afterward couldn’t spoil the occasion. This was the train that stopped on the tracks for over half-hour because someone leaning on the door set off the emergency brake.
That was new levels. Cuddling people I’ve never met, that’s what it’s all about. Would happily wait another 21 years for that just so it happens again.
