Even the tube from hell afterward couldn’t spoil the occasion. This was the train that stopped on the tracks for over half-hour because someone leaning on the door set off the emergency brake.
We were on that, the train driver was mad.
anyway just got in don't really believe what happened today, just magical, fucking magical.
Back at our hotel and sitting quietly having a meal, trying to take in what happened.
But I can’t quite get my head around it. I know I shared something special with my family that they will remember after I’m long gone. That’s good enough for me.
Great day, great win. Think we were deserving winners. Fans around me were nervous when seeing Mcgeady come on but i honestky felt we were the only team gonna score a winner. Was gonna head to Greenwich this evening but am knackered after an early start today so home now and will watch the recorded game and fall asleep with sweet dreams of the sumner transfer rumours thread now Big thanks to the bloke who ran after me to return my wallet i dropped outside Green Park st. You ensured i dont have the hassle of cancelling all my cards.
WOW. What a great atmosphere among the Charlton fans. The person i feel most pleased for is Phillips, that howler won't haunt him now. A final word on the Sunderland fans who were very gracious after the game, I hope they win the title next season & save themselves from anymore heartache.
A day to remember indeed, 20 of us done posh football, family and friends all went thru the same roller coaster of emotions that only Charlton can do to you, thankfully it’s only every 21 years!
What a day. Very emotional. Missed the first 20 minutes after being thrown out for being "too intoxicated" after coming through the turnstiles. Couldn't believe it. Luckily my old man blagged me back in and they made us swap shirts, very strange affair. O well. What a win
You should have listened to your uncle @AFKABartram !
What a brilliant day. Great atmosphere at the Green Man before and thought our fans were brilliant during the game. Shell shocked by their goal but a quality equaliser from us. Not sure there is anything better than a last minute winner in football. Hugged anyone near me like a lunatic and was smiling like an idiot all the way home.
Commiserations to Sunderland. They must be sick of the sight of us.
Will enjoy the next few days and hope we get more good news soon with the Belgian Bellend finally pissing off. Can only hope!
Took about 3 hours to get back home to Bexleyheath, but even the journey from hell could not take the shine off the most exciting football experience of my life.
I have three boys . Two are Arsenal fans and one is a Liverpool fan. But after the game my two youngest was talking about the fact that “We” are going up. Quality . Two more Addicks in the house.
Never celebrated a goal like that before, doubt I ever will. Lee Bowyer take a bow you have turned around this club in a way that I didn’t think possible a couple of years ago. Quite astonishing what he has done. Best thing Roland has done is lose all interest.
Today was a day I’ll never ever forget. To come back how we did after that early OG, we could of quite easily of crumbled. The determination and fight that bowyer has instilled in this squad , is something we may not see again for a very long time at Charlton .
This season is probably my favourite in my near on 28 years of supporting this club. All the prem days, the Powell winning side from 2011, today was special and after everything that has happened with our owner, with our manager who is now out of contract, to the 14 odd players who are also out of contract or returning to their own clubs, to bring together a winning side , not spending a penny is remarkable. We couldn’t fill our bench on the first game of the season ffs, we lost our top goal scorer in jan and replaced him with a guy on a 6 month deal who’s stats made Izale McLeod look prolific.
Bowyer, Jackson, Marshall & Gallen have worked absolute miracles . Taylor has pulled this team through this season, 25 goals and 11 assists for a man who signed costing zero. The academy players have all played a massive part, the loanees , Cullen, Bielik, Purrington have probably been our best loan signings in a decade if not ever. If we don’t ever see Aribo in a Charlton shirt again then what a player, no doubt someone who will go on to have a very good career.
I wasnt at Wembley in 98, as a 6 year old so cant compare but today is a day I’ll never forget . Seeing my team win , with my dad and grandad next to me at Wembley is stuff of dreams.
No drug can possibly make you feel like that. The explosion of sheer happiness when the net burst backwards by Bauer
I'm so happy I got to see that with people I love and that so many others did too.
Sunderland made some noise first half and part of the second half. I think I educated a few around me as to what the words to our songs were. My throat and lungs hurt from singing and screaming as that goal went in.
As a collective we deserved that.
Let's not forget this was not a smash and grab. We were the better team who attacked the game and looked to play positively. Sunderland would not have been worthy winners
Posting without waking up , I don’t want to this is better than a wet dream ..
did that really happen miracle upon miracle the footballing gods played with us today but gave us a happy ending !
i was convinced we’d lose and for the sake of Dillon and Naby being able to ever sleep again for the rest of their lives , we had to win it ...
Hugged Prague as he was bouncing around when the dream happened .
although Myself and son were nigh on the only ones in the prawn sandwich eating seats when the second half started !
Shook Curbs hand afterwards ...
Had and a good sing song with Joe Aribo and friends on the way out of Wembley oooooh we got Joe Aribo .....
we now have a fixture in the calendar to look forward to/hate and not pretend that there’s anything interesting in League One cos we are Championship say we are Championship ...
tears of joy at the end and half hour after it finished and forever .
the look on my sons face was priceless as we bounced in celebration .
i just put him to bed (and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree) he said , “I still can’t believe that , I think we lost “ nuts ! !

Only the second time I've sworn on this forum in 8 years. Apologies.

Man of the match Krystian Bielik speaks
And then he breaks down.
He's been such a rock this year and if it wasn't for him we wouldn't of even been at Wembley today.
Now just feck off Douchbag and the reds are back!
Coz we keep on fighting till the end.

Thanks Bowyer, thanks Jacko. Love you Charlton
