Managerial sackings, comings and goings

very odd how Barnsley looked and played very good football last season, yet this season they are all at sea and sinking fast .. I imagine, but don't know, that once a team is in dire straits, the manager in place finds it very difficult to address the problems and change the situation for the better .. it's a tough game, and Barnsley are just following the present trend, i.e. when in doubt, chuck the manager out
See what a change Cowley has made and even more apt, what a difference Bowyer made to struggling teams

Hasn't gone down well with barnsley fans
They don't blame Stendel for the poor results. Not happy with recruitment policy and owner from what I read3 -
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49966021Andy Giddings, BBC Radio Sheffield sports editorMany fans would blame the club's recruitment policy not the head coach for the circumstances they find themselves in.
Barnsley use a 'Moneyball', spreadsheet model for finding players. Not all of them are going to work and trying to make the ones that do arrive work in a harder division than League One was always going to be tough.
Thank god we have Steve Gallen in charge of recruitment now6 -

Irrespective of whether he does go back Silva must surely be a dead man walking.1 -

Not surprised... Drew far too many games trying to protect a 1-0 lead last season - Wonder who they'll get up there0

On a serious note they could do a lot worse than Stendel who just left Barnsley, or even Phil Parkinson.2 - Sponsored links:

BUT remember, they are still in a play off spot .. perhaps being beaten by the mighty Lincoln Imps was the final straw ((:>)

Thought the Stendel decision was tough - thought he had them playing decent football last season but goes to show Moneyball can come back and bite you when you dont get it right.
Talking of Moneyball, Brentford, i thought, were very good against us earlier, so, who is in charge of their Moneyball?0 -
It’s just a touch that CAFC haven’t been on this thread for about 40+ pages imo 👍

Draw 2 = 2 points.
There endeth the lesson.
PS. He lost the biggest one of all. 1-0 after 3 mins & then did feck all.5 -

Just far, far too many draws and for a club that should in theory have walked the league last season and this season, to draw that many is not good enough.
Last season it's all well and good only losing 5 all season, but you can't expect to go up when you win 22 games and draw 19. That's ridiculous.
Under Bowyer he goes for the win in every game and is disappointed in each game we don't, hence why his record is so good. Under Ross, Sunderland were making sure they did not lose first and foremost, that approach doesn't get you anywhere.1 -

Just looked Gomes up on wikipedia. He's had 13 managerial jobs and the longest he was employed at any of them was 20 months. Nice work if you can get it.0

Reading and Sunderland are bigger clubs than Miiilahhhl so it will be harder for them to get their top man. Surely Pards is a perfect fit for them?1
