That was another reality check - we have nothing to fear in this league. I'm more concerned that an injury crisis will stop us than any player or club we come up against.

Opponents can have their 4-2-3-1's and 4-3-3's, big name foreign managers, multi million pound signings, their possession obsession and tippy tappy football at the back - but Bowyer can out think any manager and these players can out work any 11.

Bowyer mentioned we hadn't played this formation before. We seemed to play a 5-4-1 today with a flat midfield four. It would be interesting to know why he set up in that way, it's not a common formation to see. Neither is what you expect when your lone striker was only playing in the fifth tier last season. I love how flexible Bowyer is tactically. He clearly puts so much effort into understanding and adapting to opponent strengths and weaknesses. It's the complete opposite to the football we saw under Peeters, Luzon and of course Robinson, who thought their one plan was enough.

    Can't wait until Wednesday now.
Bang on the money Scoham as ever.
It is such a pleasure to watch Bowyer's addicks at the moment.
I can't think of many times in the 57 years I have been supporting when I have looked forward to games so much.

He’s very tactically astute and seems to have learnt so much in a short time

Just think how it made Leuth.
  • The fact that Nabby can play a pass like that then kick a ball out of touch from 10 yards is the reason he's not playing at a much higher level.
I love the fella and he really is a nice bloke of the pitch but drivers me insane when he inexplicably just kicks a ball out of touch.

Not a major put down or dig him out it's just annoying he can't iradicate them minor errors as I'd love to see him progress higher.

Sitting behind the goal in North Lower, we had the sun in our eyes as Cullen went to take the early second-half corner. We agreed high and looping was the best option and luckily Cullen obliged.

Also, just seen Bowyer's post match interview and enjoyed him tearing into a journalist that suggested maybe he used as different formation because of the 'poor results leading up to the international break.' Made me smile.
Where did you see this? Would love to watch that!

im liking JFC at lb, offers a lot more going forward than Purrington
  • Great to be there today. The live stream is great for us overseas fans but you can't beat seeing a game live, especially a game we bossed.

Loved that first goal, Naby's seemed to happen in slow motion and what a strike by Conor.

This group look a bit special.

He'd struggle to get into our midfield at the moment, so it's good that he's getting the minutes in his legs, too.

Who knows when we might need him in midfield because of injury/suspensions?

A very smart footballer, who would have been first name on the teamsheet at the start of last season, but for his injury.

    Great to see him back.

It's because he tries stuff other defenders won't. Little dinks over the top, balls with the outside of his boot etc. When they come off they are spectacular. If they don't it can look stupid but doesn't really cost us much. I don't want him to stop trying them even if they don't come off.at home it's a great weapon to have.

Work as a wing back but wouldn't want to see him there as part of a back 4. Would sorry me a bit.

Every week I think it will be the week it goes wrong but every time we get better.  3-0 against a big spending Derby side. Wow, this management team is phenomenal.  How much did that entire squad today cost us?

    Bonne   £200K ?
    Sarr.      £2M ?
    Pearce. £1.5M ?
    JFC.     £ ?

All others loans, kids and frees?

He's our 4th choice at LB/LWB and it's going well so far!

You have never seen the mistakes John Stones makes every season obviously that costs England and City ?

Naby Sarr is turning into a decent CB in the Championship. The pass to Williams was sublime and he was immense today, so a couple of passes go astray in the Oppositions half ! What about the 30 passes that found a cafc shirt.

Aside from a couple of stray passes I thought that was comfortably the most composed Sarr has looked this season.

Couldn't disagree more. He always tries to make incisive passes, and there is a courage about it. I would have that every day than the no risk passing you normally get from a centre half.

Brilliant result.... Bow says we will surprise teams. Thought that would end quickly but so far it hasn't. Derby mate text me tonight and said, he could not believe how great we were.

Hope you text him back and said “I couldn’t believe how bad you were”!!

If teams are still getting surprised by us then they aren’t doing their homework, long may it continue.

Never in a million years would we have paid £1.5m for Pearce. I think it’s around the £500k mark

    Comment from Derby forum:

“I realise the goals at times were embarrassing but I must say the 1st & 3rd were worldies, the first one he could have hit that shot 10 times and nine times it would have gone over, real quality shooting.”

What a great performance - a fantastic win for my dad who has had major surgery on his knee, and recovered to drive a couple of hundred miles to support the club (as he has since the 60's) and to leave so happy today. Wow.

I thought JFC was napping a bit, ball was quite close to him. One other ambitious croofiels went astray but rather he tried them.

    PWR

Had a bad feeling about today so really chuffed by the result.

Derby came out of the blocks fast and I thought we were in for a tough day but we attacked and the ball fell to Bonne who finished excellently after just 5 minute or so and that settled us down.

This, as I seem to say every week, was a fine team performance to which they all contributed. However I want to mention one individual, Darren Pratley. He does the dirty stuff so well. The incident that stuck out for me today was a tackle he made reminiscent of Steve Brown's tackle back in the 1998 play off final. The ball fell to another Charlton player and from the resulting attack Bonne was denied a deserved second goal only by an excellent save by the Derby goalkeeper. A shame Quest didn't show that on the highlights.

It was pleasing that we didn't sit back and invite them onto us having taken the lead. I was pleased for Naby that he scored at the Covered End and Conor Gallagher's goal was worth the admission money on its own.

Near enough 40% of the way to where we need to be after today. Professional job well done. These boys put their bodies on the line for the shirt and it is great to watch.

They had Clough but we've got version 2.0
  • Bonnes shot in the first half saved by the keeper for a corner was going wide but a decent strike

We win 3-0, the team we play midweek lose 3-0, what could possible go wrong?

Great performance yesterday, agree with everything that has been posted.

We’re getting better every week in a campaign where there doesn’t appear to be any stand out teams amongst the top 10 or so, lol at this post if you want but there could be a genuine chance of top six if injuries and most of all January (Roland being a c*nt) are good to us.
