But I don't think this delay is anything other than normal formalities. Enjoy your Christmas and it will be done soon
And there was me thinking that Douchebag was spiteful !
I just want Duchatelet to be History and Charlton to have owners who can afford to pay wages consummate with Championship players who don't have disabled stickers on their cars before they join us.
I personally couldn't do another stint in League 1 and if some of our fans enjoy this impasse then I'm the polar opposite.
It's hard enough getting decent players in the January window without this delay.
just a case of what’s needed to stay up and go heavy in the summer.
Personally, I’d get rid of Kayal and Hemed. Waste of money on wages.
bring Leko back perm if he looks like he could have an impact, but possibly wait for the summer with him.
Get a loan striker and Central Defender.
Pearce and Sarr are struggling as we can all see.
easy to keep shouting what we need but they’re the big positions for me if the central midfield are on their way back.
According to Bowyer, our boys struggled with access to a good surface to play/train on.
Yet the the rugby club have beautiful pitches just over the back, once again I would question Rolands priorities and I don't believe they were the Charlton Athletic football club.0 -

I’m good with that.
To be honest, 5 million on 3-4 players with Gallens talent would do us quite adequately

I am however expecting them to support the management team with enough to keep us up.
in the summer I’d expect investment to make us a realistic playoff contender.
Thats all I’d ask2 -
If I was worth £500 million, I’m not sure if I would have a boss .8
-
If Nimer is personally worth £500 million as suggested above then buying Charlton and getting the team promoted to the PL which I presume is the plan will cost him around 20% of his wealth. That’s a big chunk to take on.My guess is the EFL are questioning the source of funding because it’s not clear it’s all coming directly and solely from TN. If that’s true and it’s a guess by the way then it does throw up the question as to who else is financing the deal.0

Bottom line, we just don’t know.2 - Sponsored links:

I’m also unclear as to where this £500 million actually comes from. The only figure I have seen printed is several hundred million. That implies to me more in the region of 2 - 300 million. Which makes a significantly bigger impact on his total wealth.0

Please jump to a conclusion, preferably extreme and based on very little.11 -

That business then funds nearly 60 other companies, i suspect we will see some of these involved in sponsorship in some way with Charlton in the future.
In my opinion they are not in this to just play at it, they will mean business and will invest to ensure we are competitive. They wont want to be poor relations of other middle east invested clubs. I would expect when it is approved that we will see intent straight away.
Have a Merry Christmas all14 -
Bugger. Beer too warm and banned from using up space in the fridge.
Made up a nice stand out of wood that holds one bottle nice and safe and put it just outside the back door. Polished the bottle opener so ready to go again.
Bloody take over.5 -

Maybe he's got a Christmas bonus from his boss! (who I still think is involved).2 -

I used £500m as a conservative number. I usually expect 6 or 7 when someone says several.1 -
My bad I think. I’ve always taken several as 2-3 but it seems I’m wrong. At least it’s better than I thought not worse.0
-
@ShootersHillGuru, a couple is two, a few is three so more than three but probably in the 4 -7 range (although six would be half a dozen).2

Semantics was obviously the next step for this thread. Although, saying that, it is pretty much all it has been1

I really can’t believe that Sheikh Saeed Bin Tahnoun Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan isn’t involved. From my (albeit limited) understanding, Nimer is purchasing the club on behalf of ADBD, which is bankrolled by the Sheikh. If this was a side business for Nimer, I can’t see why they would mention ADBD in the club statement, or why the CEO of ADBD (Jonathan Heller) would be a director at the club.
Nimer doesn’t seem stupid enough to waste a significant portion of his own wealth on a second-tier football club on the other side of the planet. In my opinion, the Sheikh is directly involved in this deal and the majority of the investment will be coming from ADBD, which is essentially the Sheikh’s bank account.

ADBD was mentioned on the basis of who these people are, not who they represent.
That said, I still have an inkling that the Sheikh is somehow involved.7 -

Just had a nasty thought that I have been saving it for the takeover for so long it may be out of date! I think I will move it to the conservatory.0
