The Takeover Thread - Duchatelet Finally Sells (Jan 2020)

What this thread really needs is a few more posts about the need to give ESI a chance. It's the only hope we have of preventing the massive rebellion that is clearly brewing.21

Our Injury situation cannot be coincidental, I believe that there is clearly something in the water and maybe Roland was onto something when he took away bottled water.

Does anyone know what The Independent's view on the takeover is?3

Just pleased it’s all done! We move forward now, get behind the new owners and at @JamesSeed suggests we judge them on their actions.
Let’s hope they’re our route back to stability and success.1 -

I’m not hanging about to judge them on what they do, I’m pre empting that they’ll be disastrous owners following in the recently established tradition of Charlton AC (After Curbs)
I can see through all the smarmy soundbites of waffle that everyone wants to hear and I’m not fooling for it .
My boycott starts now , I’m not going to any FA Cup home matches this season in January7 -

Either way, ESI have not made a mega multi-million pound signing yet. I've given them enough of a chance over the last three days and nothing has happened. It's unacceptable and where is my Mbappe please. #HisExcellencyOut11 -

Wakey, Wakey people. If Taylor and Bonne aren't fit this month we WILL be in the bottom 3 by February 1st unless 2 strikers of Championship quality are fit and up to speed and leading CAFC front line.
Positive action and being pro active breeds positivity not just " oh everything will be alright because that nasty man Duchatelet has gone"
I still want Steve Gallen to be discerning like making sure that new permanent and loanees don't have disabled stickers on their car window screens. Unless football becomes like Ice skating and the performances are subjective, it's strikers that score regularly that win matches and as spirited as the young midfield and forwards were against Swansea, 5.9 on the old scoreboard doesn't win football matches. ( Going on the scoring system when Torville and Dean were getting 6's)

Hopefully we can return to displays like Fulham away and the first half against Forest, then I'd like to think it would be sufficient for us to stay up.
Gallen and Bowyer surely had a list of players for the new board, one totally different to the old ownership.0 -
No player has ever scored a goal from a list.0

SHG - you’re so negative on all threads... they only took over the club on Thursday, give it a rest...27

If ESI do the right things both actual and PR there won’t be any issue. Right now there seems to be a bit of a news vacuum which needs sorting. I don’t agree we should ever stop scrutinising what owners do with our club, but good comms will help with that.4

In what way?
Bearing in mind it's been just over 48hrs4 -
Interesting that HE T. Nimer accepted me as a contact on LinkedIn a few weeks ago, yesterday he posted the takeover on his profile. Today I've been reading just some of the many responses and they are from across the globe and from high level appointments in companies. However 2 stood out, a football agency from Uruguay and Brazil giving a contact number for potential players and another from Africa covering the entire continent again giving contact numbers if interested in African players. HE T. Nimer seems to be have stirred some of his LinkedIn contacts that's for sure!14

TTnimer, comes as across as a “normal “ bloke who lives in a far from normal world , that must be a bonus.1

ESI will do wonders for themselves if we can trust them, hopefully that will start with an immediate announcement that they own EVERYTHING.
Then onwards and upwards.1 -

Quite easy to do.
January window 2019 was a total shambles from Duchatelet where only a non scoring striker/forward came in because the budget was so low. (Parker)
The August Window appeared decent because Duchatelet stopped Taylor going 5 minutes before the deadline and we got some decent players in on loan or 1 year contracts. The fact that they have all had injuries could be down to various reasons and well as bad luck.(Gallagher, no injury so far but he is being targeted recently)
Duchatelet was a shithouse of the highest order but he realize in the summer that Taylor needed to stay, or someone younger of a similar status: Toney from Posh was that man but when Peterborough's owner said No, then Taylor buckled down and got on with it despite a life changing wage disappearing from Brentford.
I know the only reason he kept Taylor was so he had more chance of getting 50-60k for Cafc if they were in mid table or above which we were, when negotiations started with ESI.

The potential new buyer whom I am aware of who emerged after Wembley, has been told that a deal (with another party) is almost done, but if it isn't closed by Tuesday, this buyer will be given a short run at closing it. I have not been told who the likely buying party is, and it may be that this buyer does not know either.
Let's hope that is true. I trust my source, whom I have known for a while. While I'm intrigued by the interested party I know of, being from this neck of the woods, I just want a sale done, fast, we are bleeding talent and it is breaking my heart.
What is it with wanting to curry favour with the CL masses when there is no real evidence to support such claims?
I guess narcissism comes into it.
Here's a novel idea. Just keep quiet until you actually know that something is genuinely stirring in the pot.
No excuses for the vitriolic tone I used, it was uncalled for. Just glad the whole saga is over now.
Importantly though, I just wanted to apologise to Prague, James and AFKA; that's all.
Happy New Year.16 -
Come on everyone..only look forward and never look back1

Me too, an' all that.5 -
Barely played for Wycombe but Parker could do 3 or 4 jobs for us at present without upsetting squad when better players are back. We are obviously not shopping in Harrods yet.3
-
Just as we did in the summer with Leko and Bonne we’ll be patient and get players that can contribute in the Championship than panic and sign a player like Josh Parker. He did a job and worked hard but he’s nowhere near good enough for us now.8
