Could explain why we've done nothing in the market so far if MS is running negotiations and not SGValley11 said:Has Gallen’s role changed a bit? I always thought he was the one who negotiated the deals and he said the new title of DoF would help him have clout with other clubs when getting deals done.
But this from Bowyer suggests Matt’s taken on deal negotiation now:
‘The chairman has the list. It’s in his hands now.‘0 -
Let's judge at the end of the window, i'd rather SG running the show after his fantastic track record.JoshAddick said:Don’t think it’s a totally bad thing if MS is involved in negotiations. Being an ex agent, he will probably know what he’s doing1 -
MS managed to get a non-Charlton supporting UAE national to buy a football club 5,000 miles away for £50m. His skills can’t be too bad.J BLOCK said:

Know absolutely nothing about he lad. That said, I’d take a younger, presumably hungry youngster from a PL side on loan rather than a late 20s loanee from our division/SPL. So fairly positive, in Gallen we trust with this one.0

Especially if we could buy a player now for between £500k - £13m (Gnaudillet / Toney) yet for half the price in the summerBR7_addick said:Know absolutely nothing about he lad. That said, I’d take a younger, presumably hungry youngster from a PL side on loan rather than a late 20s loanee from our division/SPL. I only know him from Football manager, and that he's a wonderkid

I’ve a feeling we will go in for Toney in the summer if Lyle goes.ForeverAddickted said:

Plus everyone else will that fails to leave this league at either end of the table.BR7_addick said:

It would be fantastic if we could actually sign him on a permanent. He is absolutely the quality we need going forward as we begin to become less reliant on loansorpingtonRED said:
Just read an interesting article on Pedro Chirivella. He's Liverpools longest standing foreign player and hes been at the club longer than every player except Henderson and TAA. Didnt realise he had such a tough year or so.Redhenry said:

Apologies for the mickey mouse site0 -
why do we need an inexperienced 18 year old striker when we have a more experienced one in Bonne who should be back soon?2

Didn't someone on here call idah beginning of Jan before he got his hat trick??2

100% it’s a player we’re interested in. Rich wouldn’t have tweeted that otherwise.Chunes said:It's just a rumour. None of the other ones have come true so far.
With our crossing I'm not sure what use his height would be!! Can he learn to duck below the first man?Of course it’s not 100% that he’ll join us, but that’s another matter.2 -
Yes can't remember who though, regular poster. Also said he heard Vydra and someone else I can't rememberscruffle said:Didn't someone on here call idah beginning of Jan before he got his hat trick??0 -
Injuries / Form / Quality are three very obvious reasonslancashire lad said:why do we need an inexperienced 18 year old striker when we have a more experienced one in Bonne who should be back soon?5 -
He over paid for it ..ValleyGary said:

But my my point is that SG has done an incredible job and based on his track record I’d rather him negotiating that MS who is unproven for us in the transfer market.1 -
Loan signings are not the end of the world in Jan, if we stay up we won't have a bloated squad full of players that are lower half championship quality. We can then have a whole summer to invest and improve the entire squad8

I think comparing to Gallagher and Bielik to calm concerns is wrong.
Yes Gallagher and Bielik were young players who couldnt get in their own team - but those teams were Chelsea and Arsenal. It was no indication they were not good enough for us and that was proven.
A young kid who is the same standard as them (and thats the standard we need in a relegation fight) should be good enough to be deemed un-loanable to Norwich. The fact a team that bad wants to let him go to get minutes is just something to be considered0 -
He’ll have significantly more options, and money, if he waits four more months to sign. He’s playing well, on the radar of a few clubs and will soon be a free agent - the perfect combination for a footballer to get paid a lot of money.Rothko said:Reckon Maddison will sign, but probably on the 30th or 31st, he’s running out of options and Peterborough have moved on0 -
A lad I work with is good friends with Ben Godfrey at Norwich (they played together as schoolboys in York) so I’ll try and get some inside info. Is this what it feels like to be ITK?6

Underwhelmed surely?golfaddick said:
Another one in the welmed camp. We already have Davison who us "young" & "raw". What we need is an experienced striker who knows the league......but not old & slow like Hemed. Someone aged between 25 & 30.....which I know costs money. Looks like the lists given to MS are running out of names.Scoham said:
And seeing as Norwich arent ripping up the Premier League you'd have thought that if he was any good at sticking the ball in the back of the net he'd be at least on the bench for them.1 -

I'll take Maddison, Idah and Docherty on loan. After that as long as we stay injury free that should be enough to get us over the line. We would be a very dangerous team on the break if we had Maddison along with Taylor, Bonne and Williams2
-
Even if they don't play him again all season? It's a risk, that's for sure.se9addick said:

Look how a third in the table Fulham struggled to cope with the pace of Doughty then imagine we had started with Taylor and this lad from Norwich upfront. Would have won. Sounds decent. At 18 will be raw but many were underwhelmed with gallagher in the summer cause of his age.3

He would be a very welcome addition to our squad.
Could be a win win situation all round.0 -
Of course the big question on everyone’s lips is with a week to go, will this thread join the one million views club?
Currently at 700k, 300k thread views in a week is a mighty tall order. I might need to start making up rumours to push it along...6 -
SG is brilliant at spotting talent. Let MS conduct the business side, leaving Steve to do what he does best.J BLOCK said:

Heard the Spanish Press are linking us with Espanol youngster Hugo Bravo Pencile.
Drawing interest from 4 clubs, midfielder / striker said to play best in a free role where he is given artistic licence.19 -
In Adam Idah and Troy Parrott (Spurs starlet), Ireland have two very good young forwards.4

What a fantastic achievement that would be.5 -
