If Cullen and Pratley/Davis take 2 of the midfield spaces, that still leaves Field, JFC, Williams, Green, McGeady, Doughty, Aneke, Oztumer as midfield or attacking midfield options.
If we play 4231 I can't see Smith as a first choice part of the 2 or the 3?
Bowyer needed 22 players who will all be ready for selection. Lee wanted the headache of who to leave out.
Two strikers at home is imperative till the end of season.2 -

That’s outrageous from Toulouse. Bostock must be pissed off.8
-
Thought MS didn't actually seem that chuffed in his interview. Now we know why.0
-
Imagine we'll be looking back at Bostock in the Summer then3
-
Utter bollocks from Toulouse.3
-
Imagine not wanting a player you own to get game time. Lazy bastards, I bet we put in a bid for him in the summer. No way he wants to stay in France5
-
Just goes to show you how difficult things are on deadline day, so many ifs and buts.
Very easy for people to sit on their computer moaning that we should've done this and that, but it's not as if Southall and Gallen weren't trying.
If things had gone differently we could've ended up with at least 3 different players yesterday to what we eventually got.3 -
Some people would have moaned whoever we signed!5

Now that explains a lot - why we didn't get Bostock and had a last minute dash to get Smith and Davies; the reason we couldn't get Parrott and finally a double knock back from Watford and then WBA when Watford overpriced Quina's loan to us and WBA which had a knock on efffect of us being unable to get Rakeem Harper from WBA.
For me keeping Taylor, getting Mcready and Davies are big pluses, and of course signing LB and SG, with just JJ to agree. Overall I reckon ESI have played it sensibly and I look forward to seeing how things now unfold.....its time for positivity and see where we finish this season. This is now a new era, its time we ALL embraced it and let the new owners go about their business.0 -
To be fair, if we didn't get Bostock purely because someone at Toulouse was having a chill out day and literally just couldn't be arsed to do some paperwork then that is absolutely hilarious. Imagine getting that email through and just thinking '...nah, fuck it' and then just moving on with your day. Top level administration.

Toulouse have lost their last 14 games in all competitions. Let’s hope they carry on that excellent run of form. Ridiculous from what is meant to be a professional club.14

I love the approach of the optimists who think it was a good window because against all the odds we managed to sign the manager who was already our manager.

ValleyGary said:write off the tweets by Southall has just a bit of light hearted banter on what must have been a pretty stressful couple of days for those involved. Stuff like supa dupa deal phone was nothing more than a joke. I don’t think he’ll be doing the same next January but After watching last nights interview, I think they did a good job.Heaven forefend that someone might enjoy what they do and have a bit of fun with it.
Some of you on here went stark raving bonkers over the last few days. You’re all adults, it’s up to you, not Southall, to self regulate your emotions and maintain a sense of perspective.
Funny that the man whose livelihood and reputation partially depended on how the transfer window went was able to keep a lighted hearted grip on reality while a lot on here went completely ga-ga.
Some of what’s been posted in the last few days has been pretty cringe worthy. One day we’ll learn as a species to form our opinions once we have all the facts in front of us. Even now, we’re still missing the crucial information of seeing how these players do playing for Charlton and deployed in the roles Bowyer has in mind for them. In reality, we won’t know if this has been a good transfer window for a few weeks yet.8 -

No one else has the engine to go box to box and its essential in a diamond. Agree if we go 4231 he will be a rotation option at best.0 -

January transfer market is a feeding frenzy. All we needed was enough to keep us. Doesn’t matter if we finish 21st or 12th, the end result is the same. Better business to be done in the summer.Time will tell, but I’ve never thought we are going down this season, and I still don’t.5 - Sponsored links:

It certainly explains Bowyer's comments. It is also short sighted from Toulouse. Surely it would be better from a resale point of view for him to be playing rather than being a forgotten man at Forest.0 -

RIght-o.
The window was massive.
Bows would have left before the sale if our Chairman had not intervened IMO.
Taylor would have buggered off.
Fans would not be so engaged.
Roland would still own us
Docherty would have gone IMO
We would be going down.
The new owners will own it all lock stock and barrel in a couple of months. The training ground will be built to the highest specifications, the squad will be improved, fans will return.
Hold my hand, I will help you through this.

You didn't fancy squeezing in that Toulouse pun again? :-)

Much better from Hemed.1
-
Pratley is out on his feet.0
-
If that foul was on Taylor he gets a free kick. Hemed gets nothing. Funny how some strikers can convince refs they’re being fouled and are others are always judged to be making a meal of it.2
