I’ve been putting together my favourite 20 songs from my favourite 20 bands on Spotify playlists. I got to Ash and got stuck at 14 so pretty much just had to put Trailer and 1977 tracks on there to make up the numbers! They wrote some seriously forgettable album fillers.McBobbin said:Ash - 1977, Nu-Clear Sounds, Free All Angels. I'd say Ash were more of a singles band, but plenty of quality throughout these albums, even if the middle one is underrated0 -
3 very good consecutive albums for me would be Arcade Fire:
Funeral
Neon Bible
The Suburbs3 -
I know people dont really like him on here, but i do

Ed Sherran:
+
x
Divide
I wouldn't put his latest one as i feel the older stuff is more original and was listening too longer.
Also + 1 to Michael Jackson as i used to love his albums, most the stuff on here i haven't even heard off, i love my music too just different era i guess0 -

Michael Jackson might have been a wrong 'un, but he was a musical genius.
Very (too) often our heroes in the arts have feet of clay.
Van Morrison or T.S. Eliot or Woody Allen and so on.
Perhaps the notion there is a price some have to pay for greatness has traction.3 -

Elvis Presley (relationships with a number of 14 year olds).
Frank Sinatra (settled an assault and battery charge).
Jerry Lee Lewis (shot his bass player; his seventh marriage (while technically still married to his second wife) was to the 14 year old ex-sister in law of his third wife).
Miles Davis (admitted beating his wives).
Brian Jones (broke his hand. On Anita Pallenburg's face).
Morrisey ("You can't help but feel that the Chinese are a subspecies").
Ike Turner ("I didn't hit her more than the average guy beats his wife").
Gary Glitter (We all know what he was sentenced to 16 years for...).
It seems that a lot of people with musical talent also have violent and despicable tendencies.

I was talking about artistic genius anyway. Certainly not Gary Glitter and the droning Morrisey for example.

I don't think Gary Glitter had any musical talent.0 -
I think I’m one of the 2% ( hmm I’ve said that before). Behaviour in my top 4jimmymelrose said:To killerandflash:
If we are to consider the Pet Shop Boys, it is criminal to put Behaviour, let alone Very, over the first four albums.
It might be a matter of opinion, but I would be amazed if more than 2 per cent of people who know their music agree with you.1 -
