The fact that he won't have to face abuse from fans at the matches will probably make a u turn for him that bit easier. Not sure he'd make a u turn if he had to face 15,000 to 20,000 odd fans
Are you saying that our fans are odd?

    Actually, you have a point.
  • So, are we assuming Nixon has got it right now? Also that Taylor is signalling he is available for all remaining games and not just through to 30 June?
@robinofottershaw three different scenarios here and all three have been aired on this forum the last couple days.

1: Infamous Sun “journalist” Alan Nixon says Lyle’s done a u-turn suggesting he will play out the season

2: Lyle himself tells a fan on Instagram that Nixon’s story is not true

3: @Redhenry comes on a day or two later and says Lyle will play three games in June but not sign the extension to play in July
Yes. Am aware of all three. But given number 2 am not sure why anyone believes Nixon repeating he is ready to play without confirmation from Taylor or the club.

Didn’t the official CAFCtwitter like the Scum journalists tweet though...?

the recent excellent radio interviews with CAFC stalwarts suggest that Taylor might not have made a UTurn .. life ain't ever dull as an Addick fan is it ?

Can't believe nobody wants him to play so an oppo player can snap him in half.

    You're, mostly, far too forgiving.

Taylor's contract is up before the Millwall game !

I’d play him if he fancies it.  We aren’t blessed with great forwards and I really don’t fancy another three seasons in league one, or worse.  Chances of staying up with him are far greater

If I’d b very surprised if he made a u turn but also very surprised if he is playing and training with us if he hasn’t
  • I can see what his thinking is,if I don’t make myself available I’ve blown my June’s wages so I’ll go in to training and guess what,”Think my hammy feeling tight sorry.I will hang about and collect my money.
    Money mad greedy splitter.

    2 things to remember about this guy;

    1. he’s a journalist

    2. he’s a journalist for a shit newspaper.

If you look through his tweets they all are vague and pretty much the same for supporters of all clubs.

Can't he sign a contract with his new club now? If he then get injured are July wages onwards down to new club not us???
No, the EFL has said that clubs cannot sign players until the end of this season.

If Taylor plays until the end of June, I would think it is because he could receive no wages if he refuses to train and play in June and he could possibly be sued for contract infringement and I would think the PFA would advise him to see his contract out. I am sure a legal beagle on here will put me right if I am wrong.

I doubt it, if the money is as high from his new deals as some of the rumours suggest then I doubt he’s particularly fussed about another months money from us.

Or the new owner has spoken to him and convinced him to stay with a massive new contract 😉

Paul Elliot wouldn't know the difference between Lyle Taylor & Lyle Lovett.
  • I really don’t mind either way.

LB picks the team and I trust his judgement. We just look on from afar and add far too much conjecture based on other social media and third hand information. The other players will probably let LB know if they don’t trust in his commitment.

I very much doubt it, Gordon Taylor is a shameless, greedy, art collecting, money grabbing, out of touch dick

Clearly Nixon is so good he knew before Lyle did.

If he is playing again we'd be best keeping it a secret until announcing the team for the Hull game

Solly must be short of cash.  I wonder if his knee would pass a medical

Well I'd hope him and Taylor are not being paid whilst they're sitting on their arses as their teammates are slogging it out to keep the club up.

And there we have it. Another outstanding Nixon 'scoop'.

Congratulations to Lyle Taylor who joins a very select band of ex-Addicks which includes Scott Parker, Danny Mills, and Danny Murphy all of whom put their wallets before the club.

Good to draw a line under it. We’ve all had a bellyful of the Lyle Taylor show.
