Sainsbury’s Pinot Grigio Blush for under a £5. Couple bottles of that and I’m racing.

Watching Pointless yesterday. Vicki Michelle & Linda Lusardi had me imagining all sorts of things.
Vicki seemed very keen on hugging Linda, not that I noticed or had any impure thoughts or anything.

Extremely pleased to discover the local Polish grocery store near my house sells 1.5 litre bottles of Lipton Green Ice Tea. Since I drastically cut down on my alcohol intake Ice Tea is my new addiction.

No idea why my photos go sideways. Must add that to the things that annoy me thread.
  • Woke to a news story that made me smile.

Two men armed with machetes broke into a house in NSW Australia.  They had been hired by the owner to tie him up and give his near naked body a rub down with a broom.  The client was prepared to pay 5000 dollars if it was really good.

The only problem being, they broke into the wrong property.  When the hapless raiders realised their mistake they held out a big friendly Aussie hand to their victim and said, 'Sorry mate'.

I reckon the victim was lucky the raiders had realised their mistake before the broom came out ... Mind you, the type of broom would be a factor here.  A big hard bristled yard broom would be quite unpleasant, whereas one of those soft bristled pantry brooms would be quite nice  less so.  That's what a friend of mine said anyway

As someone who remembers the Westcliff Broom Murder I think I'd be more worried about what the other end could do rather than the bristles.

Finally getting up to date with the Bonkers Shenanighans, Lyle Taylor and Covid-19 threads.  Some might consider this a waste of a day off, but I know where my priorities lie.

Some idiot queued in his car all night outside a McDonald's in Gosport only to find out in the morning it was one of the outlets not opening.
  • Football on, kids out with mum an nan and sun shining and Charlton playing.

Feels like the first "normal" Saturday in ages.

Our Therapy dog in training Bowyer, loose in a field with four adult dogs ten minutes after meeting them for the first time today. This despite missing all his socialisation due to lockdown. chuffed to bits.
  • Liz Hurley posting pictures of herself with Steve Bing and saying wonderful things about him after he'd tragically taken his own life.

Bing had fathered Hurley's only child some 18 years ago.  He initially denied it and chose not to pursue a meaningful father/son relationship with him - even after a DNA test had proven him wrong.  All the same, very generous of our Liz.

Bing leaves a £482 million fortune.

Secretly gatecrashing my neighbour's garden quiz and winning. If the fence was any lower, I'd have given the game away by vaulting it to claim my prize.

Brands Hatch reopening. 1st meeting this weekend, Historic car racing, online booking only.

We turned up with a big picnic, plotted up in a camping chair and didn’t get near anyone all day. Fantastic day

    Normal weekends.

    Haircut Friday afternoon
Walk in the country Saturday lunchtime ending up at our local for a few ciders on the green outside
Breakfast in our fav little restuarant Sunday morning
A drive down to Whitstable Sunday evening for Fish & Chips on the beach watching the sunset

Social distancing observed throughout, not a dickhead in site breaking any rules, barbers and brekkie restaurant were bang on it and first class, felt safe throughout.

Incredible, and congratulations. I've had nothing back from HMRC despite a submission at the begining of April, and a substantial sum of IHT paid on account at the back end of last year.

Yet my passport renewal took only 8 days from online application to the new one dropping onto my doormat, despite warnings of short staffing due to Covid.

The story my son told me today:

Whilst driving to a job in his van this morning, the car in front, a convertible Mercedes, turned a corner. As it did, the driver's wig blew off and flew out of sight over the top of the van. When he got to the job he got out of the van to be greeted by his mate roaring with laughter. There, stuck in his ladders, was the poor old guy's wig.

Being told at my annual diabetic check up, that should have been done in May, that apart from putting on a little weight since last year, I'm in decent shape (well round is a shape).

Going to crack open a beer tonight to celebrate.

These three beauties discarded by the human race, two as “dangerous” all qualified as guiding dogs for the blind. I had the pleasure of meeting two of them in Peterborough recently. Stunning dogs.......
