  • What a brilliant day for the club and fans alike, and so a new chapter begins.

Might be a new chapter for me if I cannot come up with a decent excuse for my boss as to why I vanished off the face of the earth from 2pm on wards today!

Judge said he was absolutely satisfied that Chris Farnell had engaged in a conflict of interests.

Surely the SRA have got to take notice of that.

Let's get the bastard struck off.
Absolutely. I wonder if the judges direct quotes about Farnell from today can be sent to the SRA.
I’m sure @CAFCSayer will be on the case for us.

So, will Farnelliott get their £500k back and the £50k fuck off money, or have they lost that too? lol please say they lost it all
    Anyone know this please?

  • Yes there’s a slightly concerning sentence buried in the middle of that article - can anyone elaborate on to what extent Elliott can appeal?

He can only appeal on points of law - it's not a retrial.

Costly gamble that I believe he will not take.

I would assume they will focus on getting the proceeds of the sale via court action now. Maybe Nimer will want to get the deal done quick and disappear, crook that he is. It is poetic that these scumbags fight each other, but we can't celebrate until they are all gone.

    Surely he's lost it all.

Even if Elliott wins his trial in November who is going to pay him? He's got no hope of finding Nimer and getting money off him through a court in the UAE.

Unless it was a loan with a valid agreement with CAFC/ESI 1 for repayment then he's kissed that goodbye.
Very kind of you to pay the wages out of your own (yes right) pocket - now fuck off.

I'm not sure whether to believe all this. Strangely, it's not on the official site yet. I know the IT guy isn't on furlough anymore though because there's a report of the Wimbledon game. Couldn't be that MM has come over all shy and embarrassed, could it?

Talk about icing on the cake. Not only have they been publicly shamed, it's cost them £500k, plus the costs, plus the £50k they were offered to go before.

Don't think Elliotts "net worth" is £400k now "lol"

  • Elliot needs permission to appeal. The trial judge can grant permission but if he refuses Elliot would have to apply directly to the Court of Appeal for permission to appeal. IF, and it’s a big IF, he got permission to appeal then almost certainly there would be a concurrent application to prevent any sale until the appeal is heard, probably several months. In other words a successful application to appeal could result in effectively an injunction via the back door preventing any sale until the appeal is heard. Bearing in mind the judges words about potential prejudice to Charlton in delaying any sale it is highly unlikely he will grant permission to appeal.

Do they have a price agreed or EFL approval?

    Does Thomas?
  • Elliott taking this to the Court of Appeal is La La Land. Even if he does. It isn't happening this week. And if it doesn't happen this week, the chances are he is left chasing what he always was... money (albeit in this instance by litigating against a bent sheikh resident in a notoriously difficult jurisdiction to recover funds from).

Suggest we erect a statue as a monument to his generosity which helped save the club from administration. Something like this should do

My price on a yes to both of those would be very, very short.

  • Well that's one more Charlton fan that should never have to buy a drink again.

    Dare we dream?

Well if there was an agreed price of £1 on the sale documents agreed with some twat in May, I can’t imagine that now we’re a league lower that TS should have to pay more than 5x that amount....
