  • So the goal got given because they couldnt be sure it was offside!!!!!
  • So the goal got given because they couldnt be sure it was offside!!!!!
I thought it was because they didn’t know who touched the ball
  • That image is disgraceful... Where is the Linesman to be judging that as onside???
    Halfway line.

    At The Valley.
  • Im guessing the lino came to the edge of the area and was watching the goal-line as they do for the penalty

Guess him getting back in position meant he couldnt see anyway

Why does the ref even need the linesman to make a decision there - he's got a good position and can see it's offside himself, surely?

Yup, that's what VP commentary just said.
  • Just like last week. Have to score when we  are on top. Can't see us coming back from this I'm afraid. Havent come from a losing position at half time for years.

Washington should have scored early on and it would have been 1-1
If Washington had scored we probably would have gone on to be 2 or 3 up & they wouldn't have a scored. The first goal is so important.....especially as LB teams hardly ever come back from being 1-0 down.

Greg and Terry on VP suggesting the explanation is because the linesman didn't see it so they didn't know whether it was offside or not

  • If they cant decide then surely the goal doesnt get given!!

  • I thought it was well off, I thought maybe Barker was playing him on when running back, but couldn't see him in the replays or initial play. That image clearly shows that is at least 2 yards offside.

Long time whichever way you slice it. We were by the far the most threatening side first half though and this a new era so time to fix that trend.
  • Imagine we'll have a blatant penalty ignored this half
  • Handball SURELY!???

Levitt's vision is mad. I wondered who on earth that ball was to for a moment
  • Need to hit the deck in the box, give the ref a chance to even it up.

Well an LB team came back from 1-0 down at Wembley.....

Not even going to mark him

Shouldn't be giving decisions like a goal when guessing

As I said, hardly ever. In the League proper it was Luton at home so over 50 matches ago. Awful stat.

And 1-0 down at half time....?

Considering that it's one of the linesman's main roles and he missed it shows how poor the officials are at this level, if true of course

There are early penalty appeals from Charlton as they think Lewis Montsma handled the ball. The referee waves play on. ___________________________________ 47’
