Summer Transfer Rumours 2020 (DEADLINE DAY from pg.258)

I knew there was going to be 2 announcements today, I just assumed both were signings31

CB and striker are the next two musts on the list for me. Another quality CB at least then gives you the option to play a 3 with Famewo and Pearce as the other 2.0
-
If we manage to sign Ali Koiki, another centre half, ideally two strikers then this would be a very good window for us, especially when you factor in being behind all the other teams with the administration looming, transfer ban etc

Obviously he was one who went down the pecking order after the takeover.1 -

Definitely need another two strikers as well.
For the midfield, it would be interesting to see whether we sign another central midfielder or someone who can play wider?
Now Bostock is a free agent, how likely is he to drop his wage demands to sign for us? A midfield three of Watson, Gilbey, and Bostock would be excellent for this level. Add in Williams, Levitt, and Forster-Caskey and that's strong without even considering other options.
The biggest target though has to be a striker and I am pretty sure they're getting close to signing one.
I’d be very happy if we got him.5 -

Gunter Akin Pearce New LB
Watson Gilbey Levitt
Maddison New ST DoughtyDecent team with everybody fit (haha), Aneke i like but never fit. Washington not convinced so far and definitely need another CB.
After the last time LB paired two left central defenders together - Sarr and Pearce - it ended with Pearce having an awful game and LB saying he wouldn't want to do that again.3 -

Smart move.
I see you're not daft enough to name the striker - in case it goes t*ts up, and you end up in the red on Dazzler's list.4 - Sponsored links:

One thing I think we all must take into consideration is the fact that because of the salary cap, and it's hurting us, Bow and Gallen are having to keep their targets and the work they're doing behind the scenes very much behind closed doors.
The moment lots of rumours happen and we get say 4 or 5 players named to be a target is when agents are going to the press, or too many people are talking. Expectations are then heightened and if it doesn't come off, disappointment will naturally occur.
What they're doing is taking the time to work out how is best to bring in the best players available, with the restrictions placed on them.
Have they let us down before? No, I don't think they have at all. They will get this right.31 -
We don't lose anything by waiting a bit either.
It might be sensible to wait and see if any players become available in a weeks time when they realise an offer from a championship club isn't going to come.
Wouldn't want to max the wage cap out only to find out x player is now available who is better than y who we panic signed.12 -
Happy with Gunter. Will be even happier when we get a couple of strikers on board. Not ITK but sure LB won't let us down with his choices.2
-
2 weeks to get Aneke fit! Come on Chuks, you know you want to!7
-
The list can be good for your rep, not affect it at all or be bad for it.
Moved Dubai's second 'signing' to withdrawn.
(And everyone should get the idea by now it's a bit of fun. I may even stop updating it soon)1 -

As long as Oshilaja never plays at LB again.
To play 3 times in that position during the mini League 9 matches was just wrong. Ok against Hull they had a left footed guy on the right wing but he can't tackle with his left foot so why did he play there again ? Hopefully Bowyer won't have to play square pegs in round holes this season.
We will improve after this window and the next one. The quality of the two new strikers will determine if we finish in the top 6.

Now the two real key areas to get sorted.
A CB
A CF
I agree, but I would turn CF into a good goal scorer. We have had CF who are not good goal scorers. Josh Magennis had a 1 in 4 scoring record at CAFC which isn't good enough if you want to be promoted from League 1.
Bradley Wright-Phillips had many games where he didn't function but he scored 1 in 2 games in League 1.
The days when we go for non scoring forwards like the hard working Josh Parker must be history.
Ps. It took me 6 attempts to spell Josh's Magennis's name correct, I'm pleased he left !4 -
Do we know, or has it been confirmed that Matthews has
actually been told to go, or maybe he is away talking with
another club, so he may still be involved potentially with us.
I know we have Chris signed, but no problem having Matthews

Was we looking at Ryan Shotton a while back? His names appeared a few times on social media lately.0

Yann's ratio in the title season was after all only 1 in 3, as we had BWP to be the main scorer plus goals from elsewhere on the pitch, notably Jacko4 -

Sorry but fail to see how Gunter is a 'great signing'.
Matthews was probably our best player for the last few games of last season and our best defender for most of it.
It looks like we have failed to to retain his services despite the new ownership buzz which seems to have fizzled out before it even started.
Our squad still looks painfully weak even for this league. When people start fondly remembering Magennis who despite his great effort, had the turning circle of a large container ship with one engine broken, you know there is a major problem.50
