If you look at the history of teams, ours and those all over the world it's really common to have two right footed centre halves, and no-one cares. Vidic and Ferdinand, Terry and Carvalho, Toure and Campbell, Hummel and Boateng, Puyol and Pique. All right footers. Bowyer very specifically likes to have a right and left footer at the back, and there tends to be much more of a fear of having two lefties across football. It's strange0

but i would suggest that the game is different with the level of pressing increasing significantly in the last 5 years.
The ability to naturally distribute on the left and the right and not get caught in possession when playing out from the back maybe where this new "voodoo" comes from.

Similarly I imagine that right footers playing at LB are far more common than left footers playing at RB0 -

couldn't disagree more - he gets thrown around like a rag doll when he comes up against a proper striker - he's another who shouldn't be a first choice player if we are to go up0 -

bearing in mind he was 34 when he joined he must have been a cracking player in his Norwich days1 - Sponsored links:

But he's not a specialist CB and that's what we really need.Could work... But ruins the rest of the team...

don't ever want to see Washington play up front on his own again - waste of time1 -

Don’t get people posting these possible teams. We’re likely to be five players better off soon and the team will look completely different.10

Washington plays in a 2 up top or doesn't play for me

I just think it's interesting to see how our options change as we move towards the end of the window.
It's obviously only supposition and with 1 full week remaining to get in 4/5 players according to Bowyer I hope it's read as such...
Without any leaks it all has to be guess work.

Paolo Maldini was one of the best left backs of all time and right footed.

Chris Solly was one of the worst left backs of all times and he was right footed.17

The reason I know he was right footed was his penalty at Wembley.0 -

So will it be Koiki (the obvious option), or will it be a total curve ball that nobody has spoken about?3
