    Having seen both play multiple times, Oztumer is a better player than Shinnie. 

    I thought we shifted out Oz and Lapslie to make room for a much better player?

    I'd be happy with Shinnie, Smyth and a young striker on loan. No out and out striker and I'll be underwhelmed.

    Strikers need service. We now have a LOT of service. I wouldn't be surprised if someone who's previously been goal-shy - Washington, Bogle, Smyth etc - scores an absolute hatful this season

    Better in what way though? Oztumer has one goal (this year) and (probably) no assists, albeit in the Champ with a stop start season. Not sure you can compare them looking at their pedigree so far, and experience

    I'm being really negative today, but I was so excited for a proper deadline day, these players feel like compromises to me

    Shinnie is an attacking midfielder who has scored 6 goals in the league in 92 appearances for Luton. That's about the same as Nabby Sarr.

    Smyth will be a risk... Shinnie will be a typical Powell signing from 2011

    Thats the type of player that we need to get us promoted

    People cant handle us signing solid players from Luton on twitter but are happy with us bringing in an untested kid from Boreham Wood?

    I’m personally comparing their general play whilst I’ve seen them live. Oztumer stood out at this level and Shinnie didn’t. 

    Fair enough it hasn’t worked out for Oztumer here, and Shinnie brings bags of experience - I just don’t see where he plays? 

    I’m quite confident Oztumer will get more goals and assists for Bristol Rovers than Shinnie will for us.

    Love this, really feel that we are seeing Bowyer craft the team the kind of team that he wants - seems clear that the emphasis is on experience, which seems like a very good idea.

    In my opinion the latter won’t happen. Just have to hope that the likes of Bogle and Washington can score more goals in a season than they have ever done before.
    If you look at there best goal scoring Washington got better than 1 in 3 for Peterborough and Bogle better than 1 in 2 for Grimsby.    If you forget they both didn't score in the championship that's 2 in 3, or better between them.

     If he's from Luton, my guessing is he's a bit of a lump?
    Otzumer did have a tendency to get blown off the ball.
     I think we know Bowyers thinking about this season if it happens.

    Am I right in thinking we can still sign players out of contract after today? If so we may still be have space in the squad and room on the budget for this.

    He got sent off against us in the 3-1 home win back in 2018, he was part of the Luton team that won League One that year. A solid signing if it comes off.

    I understand the limitations but I thought we would adequately replace Bonne when he left. 

    I think we got a good price for him but doesn’t look that smart now that we haven’t been able to spend it.
