  • Love that celebration routine! Looking forward to seeing it for us.

Some of your lot are mad. Talking about underwhelmed etc.

    1. We are a league one club with a salary cap.
    2. We have missed most of the transfer window due to ownership.
    3. There is not this pool of proven attacking talent out there we can just pick up and sign.

Anyone that comes in i'm happy with. Everyone improves under Bowyer.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with saying if Smyth is an underwhelming signing if he is to be the striker. There is not even a slither of evidence to say he will add goals to us, but he will certainly add pace. Overall though, we desperately need goals and I do believe there are and has to be better players than Smyth who would provide more goals to the team. Not every signing you’re going to be overwhelmed or even whelmed about.

  • Tangential question: If I get a basic ValleyPass subscription does it give me access to delayed extended highlights for every game? and how soon after the match are the highlights available? (NB: picture of no relevance and simply used to get someone's attention)

You succeeded you have my full attention !!!

Well it's a million percent (if such a thing existed) YES from me.

Good bloody grief who is she ?

Real time Updates from Conchita Wurst all the official Conchita

  • Two years ago we got Beliek & Cullen on loan from PL clubs, seems a little disappointing we're now getting loanees from Luton and QPR, just my opinion. I trust Bowyer and Gallen to get the best ones in.
Yeah because two years ago we werent crippled by a ridiculous salary cap
No but we were crippled by an Ower who wouldn't put much more than the salary cap in even though he could
  • I’m going to reserve judgement on the players we’ve signed until I’ve seen them play. I don’t know any Palace, Luton, Peterborough, QPR, Chelsea or Boreham Wood fans to ask how good these players actually are. I am not in the know, I have no mates

Back to that old chestnut again are we  ?

If that was the case we wouldn't be bringing in players & loaning out ours as the "new improved" Lapslie, Morgan, Dempsey & Davisson would be enough to get us promoted.
They are kids, all clubs loan out kids.

Also Davison was playing in the Isthmian league just over a year ago, i think it's fair to say he's definitely improved.

I don’t think Bielik would have counted would he? Cullen I think would have mind.

I agree there is a need for a striker.

But can we remember where we were only a few weeks back and take a moment to reflect on the players we’ve already brought in (hopefully a few more today) and pay thanks to our new owner because without him and his tenacity to buy us, we were disappearing down a big black hole as a club.

And without TS, I wonder what today would’ve been like with Elliottttttt and the other chancers at the helm.
  • Presumably any striker signed today will be a loan from a Prem/Champ team and therefore we won't need to do a medical (he'll be insured by the parent club) or agree personal terms (parent club will tell them where they're going and any split on wages will be agreed between the clubs). That being the case it could happen any time right up to the deadline. There will be a lot of horse trading today and a lot of it will happen in the last minutes of the window.
  • Hopefully the next episode of micc'ed up can be a transfer window special covering the last few days of this transfer window, following Gallen and Bowyer as they try to get deals done
  • Don't Bournemouth still have Begovic? And Palace have Guaita, Hennessy and Henderson, why would he go there?

    Surely going to be Stoke.

I think nearly fifty years of supporting Charlton has something to do with it ...

Will need a parental warning....or a lot of bleeping!

Hennessey has a longish term injury

  • I think Dillon's agent has screwed him over by looking selfishly for a personal 'pay-day'. Dillon would be well advised to dump his agent or he may end up out of the limelight for the season, such a pity when agents get involved and end up screwing it up!
Blimey. Dillons really pushed Bowyers buttons.
Still think Bowyers made the right decision. Agent’s  potentially f*cked Dillon over?
An agent is there to advise & yes most seem to be money grabbing aresholes but the final decision is down to Philips. He's a grown man & if he wants to reject the offer of a new contract then so be it, he's done nothing wrong making that decision.
  • Always liked the look of Shinnie. Dale Stephens/Gilby mould.

We shouldn't have sold Bonne if we weren't going to replace him with:

    - A proven scorer in L1
    - 2 strikers who bring different skills to the game
I didn’t expect a proven L1 goalscorer, that won’t be cheap and with the salary cap we’re limited in what we can pay them.

What I expected was an out and out striker rather than a winger who sometimes plays up front.
  • Looks like to me that Phillips has had some bad guidance by his agent.

There plan seems to have backfired and left Dil in limbo!
Could also be the club are making a statement about how they will deal with players refusing to sign new contracts. Make no mistake, Dillon is in a bad position if he’s excluded from our squad. Yes I’m sure he’ll get a gig when his contract expires but his star will have fallen dramatically as will his earning potential.
Yes that's a possibility & I think LB alluded to that a while back. I think that's a dangerous game to play & anyway he's already contradicting himself by playing doughty who has also turned down a new contract.

A young PL striker for example, rather than an out of favour QPR winger

Hennessey has a longish term injury
    It’s called Nigellus Stripedia.
  • As some poster has said once or twice before, another midfielder is needed although not a priority.

    7 central midfielders
    Pratley
Watson - Both in their 30's and love a booking, with Deji out for a few months Pratley is 2nd choice RCB
    Levitt
Vennings - 19/20 years old playing first full seasons, could still go either way for them
    Gilbey - Injured
JFC - not looking great in the middle
Morgan - I think with Bows comments we can put him way down the pecking order

    1 Attacking mid
    Williams - Injury record

    3 wide players
    Doughty
    Maddison
    Maatsen

Shinnie coming in and bridging the gap between CM and AM isn't crazy.

A decent looking Prem kid loanee striker would be nice but with the Smyth rumours coming back imagine he'll fill that role of "wide forward" that Bowyer likes (Leko/Green)

Washington, Maddison, Doughty, Shinnie, Gilbey, Bogle should be enough goal threat if thats all we're left with, add in bit parts from Smyth, Aneke and others.
