I love a good through ball. Doughty, Williams, Smyth, and Washington should all appreciate passes like that if we can consistently work the space for them.killerandflash said:

The weighting on all of those balls were lovely, interesting that they were all near identical as well. Hopefully Shinnie can link up with Johnniesta in the same way.Callumcafc said:Posted by @ElliotCAFC in the transfer rumours discussion...

I believe we've just watched Bowyer's attacking game plan.
We can also see how Doughty and Smyth fit in, first time crosses.
Tin opener football.

Welcome Andrew, may this season be successful individually and collectively

Luton season ticket holder matey said he has an eye for a pass and a killer pass and is aggressive1

Who is that player for us that attacks the six yard box ? Don’t really see Bogle or Washington in there ?0

Thats what I've been saying all night. Hopefully its Smyth.......if not there might be a few swear words in the Golfie household over the coming months when cross after cross goes to waste.ShootersHillGuru said:that's whatWho is that player for us that attacks the six yard box ? A cracking signing, the number 8 we were missing.

Exactly the type of pass we've been missing. Now, the question is, do we have the quality in the fullback and wide positions to get good crosses in, and perhaps more worryingly, do we have the forwards and midfielders to convert on those chances?Callumcafc said:Posted by @ElliotCAFC in the transfer rumours discussion...
Very good signing for me. Was impressed with him at this level two years ago.2 -
Potentially the best signing of them all . A great passer and likes a tackle .1

Moving back to the Bowyer ball we saw a lot of in League 1 - low crosses inside the box and scoring from tap ins.Oggy Red said:Callumcafc said:Posted by @ElliotCAFC in the transfer rumours discussion...

Don’t think that’ll be good enough to get a green tick on @Dazzler21 ‘s list unfortunatelyRedhenry said:Knew this first thing but couldn’t be arsed on here lol3 -
Another rave review from a Luton fan, actually the editor of Hungarofoot website, who helped us a lot re Ujpest in the network days. I’d say he knows his footie, more than I do, so big thumbs up from me.9

Didn’t he get sent off for Luton at the Valley the day we broke their humungous unbeaten run? Seem to remember he was rubbish that day but hey ho, we need bodies. Can’t offer any less than Oztumer.2

Bit harsh judging him by a game where we out played their entire team. How does an individual stand out in that situation?Sillybilly said:Didn’t he get sent off for Luton at the Valley the day we broke their humungous unbeaten run? He was no worse than the rest of his team that day. First yellow I think was quite questionable. Red card didn't affect the game at all.0 -
Luton must have done something right that season, they were champions after all.3

I didn’t say he was rubbish. I said he was rubbish “that day”. I’m well aware of Shinnie from his days in Scottish football. I’m interested in why he’s having to take a downward step at this stage. Maybe all Covid situation related or maybe he’s just past his best. Or maybe he’s not and we’ve nabbed a bargain. Only time will tell.Dazzler21 said:

I suspect it's more the case that he's wanting to play fairly regularly and feels he has a better chance at L1 where he's proven himself instead of having to fight for a place in the Championship.Sillybilly said:

I get something of an Andy Hughes feel, he's still got something to offer even if that's not necessarily being the focal point of a team.2 -
Think he will prove to be the best signing of the lot6
-
We do now have the potential to rip lot of other sides in this division to shreds.I think I’m going to buy a season ticket even if that means I can’t go and watch us live.3

If a player needs a couple of minutes of clips from his career in order to attract the attention of another club then he’s not made much of an impression on his fellow pros, opposing managers or clubs scouts when he’s playedCallumcafc said:One of very few players to not have a highlights compilation on YouTube!1
