He's handled Dylan well in that interview
Yeah, and as he points out the weather made it Not A Levitt Game. He'll do great things in mild conditions, I'm certain of it
That'll be him in cotton wool until March then ...

Do you reckon that the social media person for Bet365 is an addick? They always post positively about us when nobody else (other than us!) really care
They do seem to have a lot of Charlton ads. I just assumed that they did that for all clubs - getting down with the fans.
  • If we want to get out of this division we’re going to have to show quality, flair, gritt, determination, patience, perseverance, togetherness and be lucky. All will be needed. I’m quietly confident that none of those qualities are going to be missing.

We were poor first half, but I wasn't surprised with Levitt, JFC & Williams starting.
If we had everyone fit I wouldn't be starting any of them.

    Levitt was anonymous.
Williams was either not involved, or when he was he passed to Northampton, or simply threw himself to the ground and had child like tantrums (I think the officials are ever increasingly wise to his antics and are beginning to ignore him.
JFC as usual just doesn't get involved enough.

The back 5 played well again and Bogle & Smyth were ok, but not threatening.

Pratley's introduction changed the game very quickly and he took control where the other 3 were (as always) unable to.

Doughty threatened all game and was impressive.

We ran out comfortable winners down to the back 5, Doughty & Pratley.

Excellent result. You don’t concede, you don’t lose.

This is beginning to feel like a promotion season.

I think it's part of the terms and conditions set out in the standard Bet365 contract that employees must be positive and respectful of the Charlton Athletic Football Club.

If they aren't, it's disciplinary time from HR.

Great result. Havn’t conceded in over 6 hours... loving our defence! Jury is out on Smyth? Couple nice touches but not the most intelligent player imo

The double a in his name would indicate something like MARTsen or maybe even MORTsen.

Even once the pronounciation has been confirmed you can bet your life that it'll still get mangled during his time with us!

Amos brilliant as I said before and got hammered. Absolutely fine for league one and no need for Philips. Save was blinding. Simple as.
Pratley from the play off semi saving goal to everything he contributes to the side... proper proper player and leader
  • Terrible first half. Second half we dominated. Don’t remember them having a shot on target in second half .

Watched on the hill outside the ground. Second half pissed it down. Saw both goals.

Bowyer gave up a clap at the end. Promotion bound I think.
Irresponsible behaviour putting others at risk - you should have found an indoor club to watch it at...

Has quality in League One gotten worse since we were last down here? I don't remember it being this bad, especially when we had Robinson.
Isn’t it dreadful? We will probably have 6 decent football matches over the season. It’s is such a shit standard of football.

Never felt uneasy that we'd concede a goal in the 2nd half, what a feeling that is! We are gonna be better this year than a lot of us, including myself were expecting

Lee Bowyer's full post-game press conference is available for Valley Pass subscribers and supporters who purchased a match pass for the game against Northampton Town.

Not sure I'd agree with Bowyer when he said you couldn't predict the weather or the pitch

All the weather forecasts said it was going to horrible this afternoon, and the Northampton pitch didn't go bobbly overnight, the scouts from previous matches would have seen the same pitch, whether at the ground, or watching the TV footage

On the topic of pronunciation, Greg Stubley had obviously noticed my post earlier in the week about how he says “Force-Caskey” and was making a point of pronouncing Forster-Caskey properly!
    Cheers @StubleyAddick

"When you're playing a team like Charlton and they beat you, you want to be able to come away from it saying that it was 'that extra bit of quality' that made a difference. But in truth, that would be hugely flattering to Charlton today. Very little quality on show from either team. The reality is that they have had more heart, more fight and wanted it more. And that is much more difficult to accept."

Heart, fight and wanting it. Good. The quality will come later :)

Yes - they are the qualities that are needed to get out of this pub league.
This isn't a pub league. Not every team is Northampton
No, because if they were,  they would all be called Northampton.

3 wins in a row. 4 clean sheets in a row.

    What's not to like.
    Pretty much this.

The standard in league 1 is so bad. Worse than i remembered. First half was honestly painful to watch, £10 is a joke for top premier league games let alone dire league 1

Doughty seems pretty upbeat about it

    That sounds positive

Weird to see him still with that head bandage, a week after the incident.

Sort of games that you win to win you promotion.

Them sort of games we have seen us lose in league 1 many times.

This team look like they can battle if need be and think we will see better football as the season goes on.

Early days but very positive signs

Superstition- he can’t take it off now until we concede a goal (next game Purrington is involved).
  • Very encouraging performance and result. In the past we’d have made excuses about the pitch, the conditions and their spoiling tactics. But this side looks like it’s made of sterner stuff.

This will be the way this season. Bar injuries, the back 5 will be etched into the team sheet the 6 in front will have to get used to playing with different squad colleagues. Again, bar injuries mounting, the beauty of lots of competition.

Delighted for the likes of Amos and Innis. Proving what they are capable of and getting a deserved run in a team.

Conditions were dreadful and we’ve proved we can scrap for three points. Only disappointment was not seeing Maddison today. Hopefully we will come Tuesday.

    Well done Bowyer and team.
