Should be getting used to these icons of my growing up passing but each one is memory, a background accompaniment to my childhood and formative years.

Des and Roger Whittaker performed as a duo singing the Skye Boat Song.
It was that awful it was hilarious. I am sure he knew that.The Kop adopted "Careless Hands" when the late Gary Sprake threw the ball into his own net. As AFKA said, Des loved to send himself up.RIP.1 -
The sketches with Morecambe and Wise were so funny - proper old fashioned comedy gold. Something that crossed generations - I remember laughing along with my Dad at them.
