  • Wonder if they'll be tempted to bring Graham Coughlan back... Was doing very well before Mansfield came calling
  • Please, please, please let Rooney step up from player-coach to take over as player-manager.

Rooney and Shay Given amongst the four people who'll oversee training for the time being

To be fair dont blame Rooney being involved, after all it is his club

Exactly. It’s imperative that he has the final say on who takes over.

He will then sell himself to Wayne Rooney, ensuring the club get the money and keep the player.

    Take that EFL.

    John Sheridan. Mr Loyal.

Swindon will be his 11th managerial job since 2015!! 4th different club just this year!
Wasn't it Tommy Docherty who on being asked how many clubs he'd managed said, "I've had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus".

Tommy Docherty once promised to get a club, either Aston Villa or Rotherham out of Division 2.

When he got sacked it referred  to his promise saying that as they got relegated he had kept his promise.😀😀😀

I remember when Docherty got sacked from Chelsea, bottom of the table Rotherham in Division 2 made him their manager.
Docherty was tasked with saving them from relegation and Rotherham started to string some results together.

Then on the Good Friday, Rotherham came to The Valley and we thrashed them 4-1.
Rotherham were relegated at the end of the season.    @addick1956

Heard a few times that he is a really good coach/Assistant, runs really good training sessions etc.

Just nowhere near as good as a manager.

The FA's biggest problem in 2006 was insisting we had to have a British manager just because Sven had ended up having a few indiscretions.

In hindsight, Guus Hiddink (who was linked after Scolari came close and before it became clear it was going to be one of Big Sam, McClaren, Curbs or Martin O'Neill) was the outstanding choice.

Went to Russia and beat McClaren in Euro2008 qualifying before getting to the semis playing very good football.

Wonder how Curbs would have done with England though?

The Shrews let a 2 goal lead slip away last night and I wonder if the owner/s made this decision in a hasty bad temper. They are having a bad season so far but Rickets has not done too bad a job at a little club that has nil cash to splash on players.
