Seems very suspect to me.
Clubs are now using Covid for their advantage, which is wrong and needs to be looked at, there is absolutely no reason for our game to be off, if they still have covid in 10 days then fair enough, but right now, they are using a global pandemic as an excuse which is poor
Postponing games for tactical reasons will likely backfire on any team this season.0 -

If the Government says 10 days isolation then thats what it should be. We should be making protestations to the EFL & NOT agreeing to the game being called off. We should turn up on the 29th ready to play. If they don't then they forfeit the fixture. No other option. 10 days is 10 days. Not 11. Otherwise teams will push it to 12, 13 or even 14 days.2 -
Was really looking forward to it over Xmas hols...0

I can’t see why everybody is moaning. With TS the club is in a better position than it has been in years and probably in a far better position than the rest of the division. Pushing the midweek games back until we’ve got some key players back and brought in one or two others to strengthen the squad is the perfect scenario for us. We play Hull away a few days after we were scheduled to play Peterborough so the extra break will do the players good.13

Wouldn't surprise me if Charlton agreed to postpone it as it's 'the right thing to do'1

If another game gets called off on the 29th I wonder if we can bring forward a game with someone else affected and what the latest date would be to do this?5

Why can’t the Peterborough players train at home?0

Schwartz and whoever will be available for the re arranged fixture. Might ultimately work in our favour.6

At my count, we lost 2 (or 3?) games on most teams due to internationals prior to Xmas, and may lose a couple more later in the season.
We gained back FA Cup Second round day. We’ve lost Bristol Rovers and Peterborough. If we were to be in a similar situation to those clubs and miss 2/3 games due to Covid, we’d be in a hell of a rush to get games finished I’d think0 -
Be surprised if the season makes the 29th0

I thought if you followed the guidelines you would only be risking players in pairs. Has someone been breaking the rules at the club?

The EFL really need to confirm the Covid procedures, as it's a mess at the moment. You have teams like Sunderland not sure whether they have to play or not, then you have Posh postponing a game played after the self isolation period has finished. It shouldn't be down to the clubs to decide whether they are interpreting the government rules correctly6

What a load of bollocks. The entire squad?Might as well suspend the season then if it’s that serious.0

Hang on, didn't Dylan Levitt get Covid? And Deji had to self-isolate, and at the moment Albie has to self isolate. If Posh only have a single confirmed case why have our fixtures gone ahead?
With the frequency of testing professional footballers are getting I struggle to understand the need for the whole squad to isolate. Surely the regular testing would pick up if the virus is spreading through the squad - and then if considerable numbers - fixtures should be postponed. Feels like overkill to me1 -

I wonder if teams are statistically more likely to call off games against stronger teams than weaker one's? Postponing harder games in the hope they're never played is a good strategy if the season's decided on PPG.2
-
Suppose the big issue will be whether the players are asymptomatic or not, in the case of Levitt it was known he had been sent home with a high temperature, but if a positive test has been returned by an asymptomatic player then they will have been in close contact with most of the players and staff at that club0

I don't expect either CAFC or the EFL to do anything about it though. All spineless imo.1 -

I've said this before, but football rules seem to be a weird hybrid between football specific protocol (enabling matches and training to go ahead with no distancing) and following government rules on self isolation. It's summed up by the nonsense of teams still having to enter the pitch separately, despite the players then spending the next 100 minutes in super close contact2 -
Surely their 10 days isolation started today, which means it'd end midnight 27th, they could do some light training 28th then play us on the 29th.
Seems crazy they can just call it off.

Bristol Rovers have their outbreak on the 15th, but will play their game on the 26th 11 days later
Peterborough have their outbreak on the 18th, but won't play their game on the 29th 11 days later
